I saw it a few days ago and I enjoyed it. Thought it was one of the best Wes Anderson Movies. TO anyone else who has seen it, thoughts? and where do you think it ranks with other wes anderson films?

My wes anderson film rankings:

1.Fantastic Mr.Fox (no one will agree I just have some odd attachment to the movie,cant explain it)
2. Moonrise Kingdom
3.Royal tenenbaums
4.Grand Budapest
5.Rushmore
6.Life Aquatic
7.Darjeeling limited
8.Bottle rocket( i know its his first full length film and probably should be higher, I just never go into it)

I saw it last weekend and really enjoyed it as well. It actually exceeded my expectations because I had been pretty underwhelmed by the trailer. I also now have the urge to travel to Hungary. As far as compared to his other films I'm not sure how I'd rank it - probably after Moonrise Kingdom and The Life Aquatic, maybe even with The Royal Tannenbaums (I like you did not enjoy Bottle Rocket).

I actually agree with your number one ranking of fantastic mr fox.

I'd say grand budapest was one of his more laugh out loud movies I've seen. I mean they all have their own degree of humor but I actually found myself belly laughing at some of the humor in grand budapest.

I've never seen bottle rocket or royal tennanbaums all the way through, actually darjeeling I never caught the end of either.

I'd put moonrise up there pretty high cause I have a soft spot for love stories and camping.

Also this is pretty interesting if you haven't seen it yet.....

Fantastic movie, loved every second of it. and you beat me to this thread.

Now, Wes Anderson has created some of my favorite movies of all time, and its hard to put them in order from best to worst. But this is the list that best ranks them.

Rushmore
The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Darjeeling limited
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Life Aquatic
Moonrise Kingdom
Bottle Rocket

Nah it's actually kind of nice. You get to just focus on the movie and nothing else. After you leave though you have to deal with the fact that you went alone though, which also isn't that bad.

Once I actually get to a city that has in playing, I will watch it or I will be doomed to wait. (Visuals are way too important in a Wes A. movie to waste watching on some pirated version)

My Wes list is:
1) Fantastic Mr. Fox (fun to watch and a work of art)
2) Life Aquatic (all about the raid on Ping Island, but so many other things too)
3) Royal Tennenbaums (my first WA movie and will always hold a special place I my heart)
4) Rushmore
5) Darjeeling Limited (need to watch it again. Might move up the list)
6) Moonrise Kingdom (only watched it once. Need to again)
7) Prada short film (Italian race car driver)
8) Bottle Rocket (it's been years since I've watched it)

i liked it but for some reason, it didn't have the odd sentimental charm that royal tenebaums, fantastic mr. fox, the life aquatic, and bottle rocket had for me. Neither did Moonrise Kingdom. It could just be because i'm getting use to the wes anderson routine but who knows. It was real funny and definitely worth seeing none the less

After watching it, I came to the sudden realization that Wes Anderson is dealing with some sort of struggle involving dead dogs.. kinda fucked up. don't know how I didn't see it before.

1. Fantastic Mr. Fox (I think that animation is perfect for Wes' style of directing. He's a set artist, and with this format he has complete control of every element in the scene in a way that isn't possible with live actors
2. Royal Tenenbaums
3. Rushmore
4. Grand Budapest
5. Darjeeling Limited
6. Life Aquatic

8. Castelo Cavalcanti (Yeah I put the fucking Prada commercial before Bottle Rocket)

oh shit i forgot..... Hotel Chevalier is was really good, it was that short film which was an extension of Darjeeling Limited.

bottle rocket is such a classic guys!! haahaha i hate ranking wes andersons films they're all so good. But i'dhave to put bottle rocket a bit higher than most, that movie is fucking hilarious.

it just seemed too forced. i liked it, but it didnt have nearly the depth of Life Aquatic or Tanenbalms.

I loved it. The obvious campy-ness of his films is so cool, and this one was spot on. One of my favorites for sure I think.

I really love all of them, but if I had to rank them, I'd go:

1. Rushmore (in my top 10 or 20 all time)
2. Moonrise Kingdom
3. The Royal Tenenbaums
4. The Grand Budapest Hotel
5. The Fantastic Mr. Fox
6. The Darjeeling Limited
7. Bottle Rocket
8. Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

I think I had so high expectations for The Life Aquatic that it couldn't possibly have met them and left me a bit cold on first viewing. It has grown on me over time and now I could have put it at 6 on a different day.

It's one of my favorite movies. Between that and Boyhood, this year had been great for movies.

Out of the movies I've seen, this is my ranking. I really want to see Fantastic Mr. Fox and Rushmore as well as his other movies when I get a chance.
