Hellbents?

I really want the most fun out of a ski. I was looking at K2 hellbents and they look sick as hell. I read that they were ride able on groomers but I was wondering if they were usable in the park? I am terrible at tricks but want a ski to occasionally hit a jib or send it over a jump. I was also wondering if anybody who has ridden them could tell me how they are? I was looking at the 2014 version, probably in 169cm.

They're a little on the heavy side, but definitely serviceable in the park. There's no 2014 version of the hellbent, though...

2014? I'm almost certain the bents were discontinued at the end of the 2013 season.

Either way these are not gonna make you a better skier. if you want a fun flexy all around I would get a Rossi Slat.

I'm on my second pair and am in love.

I would not go 132 at the waist if you want a ski that will preform in the park. Unless you wanna be that guy.

As I said in my post I dont want something to throw down and get better on for park. I want them to have fun and run them through the park from time to time.

If you're set on the Hellbent, then perhaps wait until next season. K2 will be replacing the OG Hellbent with something similar that from what I've gathered will aim to clear up some of the issues with the original Bents.

All I'm saying is thats a lot of ski for anything other than tit deep pow.

Yeah, there is no 13-14 version. That's what I meant when I said there was no 2014 version. The last hellbent k2 made was the 12-13 version.

Go with the Shreditor 112. It is still very wide for a park ski, and has a similar soft flex like the bents. Super fun ski, way lighter than the Hellbents, and it doesn't suck in anything other than deep snow. Or you can go to 120mm underfoot w the petitor if you really want a super fat ski. I would not go with next year's shred 136, it is just way too much.

I really love them. I used them in the park a lot and they were one of the funnest skis I have used. You just have to do different tricks than on a normal ski and then they are incredible. LIke more tailpresses and butters and stuff. I have the 2012 version in 169 but they measure to about 175 but I don't know if that problem isnt fixed for next year.

It's quite normal for K2 to run long, so I suspect the trend will continue next season too. Although I normally think of them running ~3cm longer in most instances, although maybe the bents were an exception.

Someone asked for the edit of Pep skiing park on the bents, I couldn't find it, so I thought I'd throw up the all 8 on hellbents video.

honestly one of the best park skis ive ever had, learned 7's and switch 5's on them, 450's and unnatty 270's. they are fine for jumps, just not like giant 60+ footers, for 15-45 footers they're fine. they open up so many possibilities for park you just have to look at everything completely different.
They need to bring it back as a park ski, just a little lighter, smidge more flat underfoot, and they'd be the best.

I ride 2010 chopsticks as my park ski, pretty similar to the og hellbent but a little stiffer, still a noodle though. Super fun ski. I'm much more of a pow/tree skier nowadays but when I want to be a park rat like the old days the chopsticks are a super fun ski to play around on, hellbents would be very similar.

If I was you, I'd get the old Hellbents, the ones with 122 waist. They're super playful and fun. I have them, and I'll ride through the park all the time with them.

The hellbents will be able to ski park fine, they aren't a park ski and it isn't their primary purpose but a few laps from time to time is fine. You'll have a lot of fun with them in pow.

If you're only going 169, I assume you're pretty light/short? That's pretty short for a full rocker ski.

They are replacing the Hellbent this year with a 136mm underfoot slightly less noodly ski called the Powabunga
