My home mountain is mt. Hood so my season ends for like three weeks but lately I've been seeing quite a lot of 13/14 season edits and its making me sad because I though there was like a month left in the season still. I might be totally wrong or people are tired of winter but I just don't understand the early season edits.
If you were to take all mountains average closing time and average them out (in the United States) I would guess around beginning of April and late March. That's just an estimated guess by me though so don't take my word for it. Honestly, it's kind of hard to answer this question because here on the East Coast we almost just had another huge snow storm so it's hard to tell what will happen next.
In the midwest, March-April. In the Rockies, April-June, depending on the area and the year. Mount Hood has a longer ski season (excluding backcountry) than anywhere else in the US.
In Austria a lot of parks have already closed, and others have insane amounts of snow. But here the resorts have fixed closing days that were decided years ago, where do you ski?
Op is so troll.... I just called Timberline and they said that season ends on May 26. That's almost 2 months left. You almost scared me thinking that it ends at the end of April.
