Replying to The "old-school-style" edits
Is it just me or does anyone else agree that the shitty fisheye + decent camera combination in old school edits just rose above all else? I loved that old style of filming and how underground it felt. This came to mind when I was watching the education of style for the first time recently (I know Im way late on that) and midway through when they were showing all the friends they rode with. One of the guys lines was on a sunny ass slush day at Mt. Hood, filmed with a crappy fisheye/camera, doing simple yet such stylish tricks, wearing baggy ass clothes, and all I could think to myself was "God damn. I miss that. We need more of that. We need that to come back." Because (imo) that represents the underground personality that brought skiing to where it is today. Just one mans opinion though, let me know what you guys think. Agree or disagree? Should we see more of the old school style of edits, or keep going with the hollywood quality edits we've been getting? (Which by the way are still sick! Im just a sucker for the old school stuff)
