sent :) but anyway who's just gonna send you a free game? I don't know if things have changed since Brood war but once you use a key you can't use it again no? I doubt someone's just gonna have a brand new SC2 laying around, buy it yer self, or just play cracked Brood war on himachi or something.

Sorry, that's just a joke ingrained in me to reply to people trying to get a game. I have never owned sc2, but don't you have to use the key to register the game on battlenet? I suppose if someone gave you their account that would be no problem, might happen. But hey there's always the free option I mentioned, Brood wars fun, and their are more great rts' that you could torrent and play multiplayer on via Hamachi.

I think the game is free to play for a couple hours. You can always keep making accounts and playing. If you're that desperate

not online. free trial includes a couple matches against AI opponents. Then it requires subscription.

blizzard is greedy. If it was down to 15 or 20 bucks id be like sure, but man they just can't give it up. But sc2 is fun as fuck.

Yea at least it isnt like WoW charging monthly tho, they easily could with the number of competitive players globally.
I was really surprised to see that sc2 was made in 2010, I thought it was a lot older. I went on to my old battle net account and didnt see it, but I have a weird remembrance of seeing the blue helmet marine box a bunch and playing campaign. I may have just been torrenting for single player, I cant remember if I had purchased it or not.

and while its from 2010, i kind of get theyre point that its still a valid game. I mean HOTS came out it 2012, and it used the same engine and gameplay system for the most part, and the protoss campaign will be comparable. So while it was ahead of its time in 2010, blizzard will knowingly be releasing a behind its time game in 2014. I guess they want to keep the trilogy as "one game" so you can pay the $40 for the game, and like $10-15 or whatever it is for each expansion, keeping the $40 original relevant.
Kind of a weird strategy, look at Assassin's Creed, they are constantly pumping out amazing connected games but they all are up to par with the industry's best at the time.
