I have a 2011 Impreza and I'm thinking of selling it and getting a 04/05/06 TL. I should have a couple grand left over to work on it (suspension, exhaust, wheels, some other engine work). They seem reliable from what I've heard - they're basically Hondas - so I can't see any potential negatives apart from the high mileage they tend to have. Do any of you own TLs and what are your experiences with them? Thanks for the insight!
^^^ I'm not planning on ricing it out. Probably paint it black, reasonable exhaust... But anyway I'm kind of looking for opinions on how they do in the winter, reliability, how they hold up with 100k + miles etc.
I drive a TL from 2001... no mods or anything, it's pretty sweet though. My family used to go on ski trips with that car before we got an suv and it's roomy as hell with tons of trunk space. I don't think it's really broken down on us in all the years we've owned it.
04-08 TL and TL S is one of my all time favorite cars. so simple, yet so elegant. It really screams RWD, too bad its not actually that sporty but yeah theyre nice whips
maybe its just me, but the year of the car does not determine the quality of the car. I would much rather have the 10 year old tl that is a whole hell of a lot nicer than a 2011 base subaru.
Maybe if the cars where both new, but that's 10 years rust, decay, bad owners, high milege and children can ruin a car. I would definitely sell the Subaru and spend the same amount of money on a newer car. Also don't buy a Honda.
your logic here is sooooo flawed. you are going to sell an newer car to buy an older car with higher mileage that is more expensive to fix just so you can put mods on it? C'mon bro use your and dont be a dumbass. keep the impreza
k20 six speed transmission is one of the best shifting transmissions ive driven and are not know for issues besides syncro rings. Not to mention they have a factory LSD......
Well I was hoping you wouldnt rice it haha. In the winter youll most likely want snow tires. If i had the money I'd get one, toss a ski rack on and probably a non fart can exhaust.
