Edibles on a plane?

Alright guys, so I'm going out to Colorado this weekend and got the idea to try and bring back some edibles on the flight. I read some articles on people trying to do this before and got some mixed reviews. Have any of you tried before? If it worked how did you pack it? I'd be flying into Jersey if that makes any difference also.

I know someone who did it once but it was the most nerve-wracking thing ever. It looked like a little tootsie roll so I just threw it into a big bag of tootsie rolls. It was in a smaller airport though. I would suggest not doing it, and if you do be really careful

your worried about edibles breh? hahaha no worries on that man. TSA isnt looking for drugs they are looking for BOMBS! they arent the DEA.  I met some dudes out at hood 2 years ago that were from the easy coast and when they would head back on the plane they would stuff a 2/8ths in the toe of each of their snowboard boots and they had been doing that for a while.

i just flew back from San Diego and they let me bring some chocolate i had bought before i went to the airport. im not sure if it was because it was sealed or they just didnt care about chocolate. i would be super careful though man. shits sketchy

Yeah I agree with the above poster, that the TSA cares only about securing air travel. I'm not even sure if drug enforcement is within their operating parameters. Obviously, you' d have to be really careful, and I don't recommend trying to leave Colorado by air with it at all. Honestly, might as well just ship it fedex or UPS sealed very well. They can't open it, so it should be fine that way.

Last couple times my roommate flew he replaced a piece of candy with a small amount hash and added it to a miscellaneous bag of candy. No one has ever given him a second look or anything apparently. DIA now has a trash can specifically for people to throw away bags they "accidentally" bring into the airport. God i wana steal that trash can.

ive brought home made pot brownies in a tupperware container through tsa just fine but that was a couple years ago. i just wrote "from grandma, with love" on them

No, the TSA's primary directive is national security, followed by passenger saftey, then smuggling, be it people, animals, or drugs. But even then they care more about someone trying to smuggle coke or heroin in meaningful quantities than your dub. Still doesnt mean they don't care.

If you try hard to hide something, the TSA will notice because it could be a bomb/knife/gun. They probably don't really care if you have some weed, but they if they see you hiding something they will try to find it, and if it turns out to be weed its hard for them to turn the other way. Ive found the best way is to just put it in a bag in your suitcase. Nothing else, not blatant but also not hidden. All but once ive been fine, and the time I wasn't they simply left a note saying they removed contraband. If they would have found it through the scanners, they probably would have had to make a bigger scene.

Lastly, UPS and Fedex DO search for weed, and when you ship with them you agree to declare everything your shipping. If they have reason to believe you are shipping something illegal, they can and will open that package, and report it to local law enforcement. They might not be actively searching, but sometimes the DEA will have a drug dog go through warehouses and try to get as many as they can. If its just a little it will get tossed, if its a lot they will try to deliver it so they can see who picks it up.

The best option is actually USPS. Its both the cheapest and ironically, due to a shitty budget, the worst at security. Still not a guarantee you will get it there, but they simply can't afford to check every package for drugs. Also if you send it overnight it won't sit in a warehouse or sorting facility for very long, and that is how you get busted.

TL;DR. Use USPS, don't try to sneak it on, if brownies just put em in your suitcase in some Tupperware.

I've heard of numerous people ship through USPS and I'm just one person (obviously). So that means, hundreds of people must do it..

lol more like hundreds of thousands. Its actually a huge issue for them, but their volume is too high and it costs too much to really stop it. Also if they caught every drug package and no one sent illicit goods through them, they would lose enough money that it would actually hurt them, since they're already cash strapped. So its not like they have some giant incentive to be better at it.

Not that they'd ever admit that.

i agree if your gonna decide to ship that shit make sure its vaccum sealed at least 3 times with no contaminates on the outside and make a visual barrier ofr that shit.  Also USPS because they have to abide by all your amendments because they are a public company not private.

UPS and FedEx are responsible for handling the logistics of shipping millions of packages everyday. If you vacuum sealed whatever you were shipping and declared it as anything other than illegal, I guarantee you would be fine. Dont be dumb enough to try to take it on an airplane, when you can just mail it. As someone said, use a fake return address pay cash so it can't come back to you.

Haha I went through this during a beer trade, and you're right USPS is really the best option. Those flat rate priority boxes are great. Got across the country in two days for about $12, which beat USPS and FedEx's $30ish for 7 day shipped.

Best part is you can get the box at the store but then go home and print your label and package it up yourself. You get a discount for paying online. So I was able to go to the post office, have a friendly conversation with the dude, and drop off my sealed package no questions asked.

Eh not so much. Vacuum seals are of course good for humans but not for a dog's nose, if not done perfectly. It would work if you vacuum sealed, washed the bag, then re vacuum sealed. But the issue is still that it sits too long in warehouses with UPS/FedEx due to their larger volume.

read myth #2, those drug dogs are hard as fuck to beat. If you didn't seal it perfectly, you want it to be away from a sniffer as much as possible. USPS does that, and is cheaper.

NO!!

USPS is much safer than UPS/FedEx. UPS/FedEx can do whatever they want with your package (ie. open it). USPS needs a warrant to do such. Also put an address on it. Leaving it blank looks much more suspicous. Putting other items with it to look like a care package is highly recommended.

That said you're a fucking idiot if you try it. Eat a bunch of food then eat one before you go through security. It's not worth the hassle.

If you're talking about bringing them back as in not eating them and bringing them back to your home you're a completely hopeless idiot. What is the point? Just make some back home.

They make a whole shitstorm about the dumbest things at airports these days. What's the point of fucking with that over a weed treat?

We have this huge drug war going on but don't worry, feel free to fly with a duffel bag full of weed. As long as it's not a bomb you're good.

If you really feel you need to bring stuff back ship it. If you ship it ALWAYS overnight it. If it's more than a little bit vacuum seal dip vacuum seal.

What's the point though. It's seems like it's worth it when you're young but what's the point? Just make some edibles where ever you live.

It's very unlikely you'll get caught shipping them you probably won't even get caught on the plane but it's just an unecesary risk with little benefit.

Take them through security in your belly. Makes the flight much better. I fly out of DIA a lot, smoke a joint on the drive there and eat a rice krispy treat on the shuttle to the terminal. If all goes well, the flight is over and im in a much better mood after sitting in a shitty cramped airliner.

Or vacuum seal some herbs and stuff them next to your junk. Done it many a time. Taken half ounces on trips this way. Once your in the air or past security, go to the bathroom and pull them out and put it in your carry-on.

Are you talking mushrooms? That's pretty sketchy. Don't really see ANY point in doing that.

Best bet is to just not bother. If you feel the need to do it, ship it. If you really really really feel the need to do it in the airport or if you're addicted to ______ and NEED to do it in there are the only reasons I can see though not great for bringing shit in.
