Small Ski Repair Job (ON3P Jeffrey)

Somewhere in my moving of items around my garage I cleanly sliced the base of my ski as seen here:

The base was sliced clean and presses back into place perfectly. I'm going to use some small rubber clamps to get a tight, clean seal when I adhere them back together, but I'm not 100% sure what epoxy I should use for this. I'm not sure what materials are exposed and I don't want to do it twice. Any tips?

A 'marine' grade epoxy would work best. The repair plan you have layed out sounds perfect. As far as materials go, all that has been exposed is some tipfill (same material as your base, just thicker) and some fiberglass. So if it isn't 100% sealed, you won't have to worry about the core drawing moisture in through there anyways.

good stuff here.

maybe even throw a duct tape wrap around the tip (or tail) after the epoxy sets for another water barrier

I had a sort-of similar problem with my JMOs.  Contacted the company for advise and they recommended West Systems G-flex epoxy.  But truthfully, any good 2-part epoxy will probably do the trick.

Important - clean very well so that the bond is strong, and stick something between the clamps and the ski so your clamps don't get stuck to the ski! You can scrape or sand off excess epoxy if you go overboard. A small drop will go a long way if the correct pressure is used, go find some hpde at tap plastics or a hobby store for good clamp blocks.
