So someone got into the administrator of my college's email and sent this to every person in the university system.
Dear All:
I am very sorry to inform you that Kathryn A. Foster, UMF’s recently inaugurated President, very suddenly and unexpectedly suffered a stroke and passed away late this afternoon at her home in Farmington. Kathryn was a beloved leader, an accomplished scholar, and a warm, generous, friendly soul. She will be sorely missed by her students, her colleagues, and the entire UMF community.
Details about arrangements and services, as well as a long term administrative replacement solution, will follow. Meanwhile, students and staff are encouraged to stop in at the Center for Student Development or talk with a Community Assistant about the grief they are feeling. In order to stay updated on the details of this tragedy, avoid excessive emails, and provide connections to grief counseling services, we have set up this web page:

We are a close, caring community, and this hits us hard. But, at a time like this, we also can help and support each other–take special care of each other–and I know that everyone will be trying to do just that in the rough and uncertain days ahead.
Yours sincerely, with regret,
Robert L. Lively, Jr.
Interim President
