Update: NASA has issued a clarification about its role in the study, saying that while the study relies on NASA research tools developed for another project, it did not directly solicit, direct, or review Motesharrei's paper. "As is the case with all independent research, the views and conclusions in the paper are those of the authors alone. NASA does not endorse the paper or its conclusions."

for those of you bitching about the site i used to share the gist of Motesharrei's study:

while i dont agree with his assessment we only have a 'couple decades' left (at least i sure as shit hope not cause thatd be a major boner killer) it doesnt take a math genius using NASA technology to realize taht more people+less resources=prolly not gonna end well. just look at the water situation on the indian sub continent (specifically whats going on is kashmir). that shit aint good bra

even if you think that solar energy is a left wing horseshit thingy, wouldnt you expect that its intelligent to work towards a point where we only need renewable energy?

every country can use some variant. solar energy might be more efficient in germany than in the US, i gotta admit that as an avid FOX news fan. but there are all sorts of water power plants, solar energy, wind.


BY DEFINITION, OUR CIVILIZATION WILL GO DOWN IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SHIFT 100% TOWARDS RENEWABLE RESOURCES. THATS SIMPLE LOGIC.

To me it doesn't sound like the end of the world it sounds like the beginning of another age of revolution not unlike the one in 1848. A huge amount of people see wealth inequality, use of fossil fuels, and corporate owned politicians as a problem. Maybe people will ffinally act.
