Where to buy a deadcat

I need a dead cat for my rode mic and I'm hesitant to spend $50 on what seems like such a simple thing. Does anyone have any cheaper alternatives or is $50 pretty standard? Thanks

If it works better, then why not.

I've tested my stuffed animal leg against actual deadcats. It's actually much better in high-wind situations.

I'll agree it's not as good in gentle breezes and stuff, but it saved me on a shoot last April that had some serious crosswinds.

Microslip wind cover. Mine was like 25 I think, works great

I got a bunch of fake fur that's about a half inch thick, and just wrapped it around my mic, with some rubber bands. Works great and was only like 3 bucks
