So I got the booters last year because they fit me well, but I'm having some problems with the flex when going fast. Is it possible that I could modify my boots to work with the fto tongue? I know I saw a guy who did that on here once. Is it conceivable? Yes? No? What I need to do?
You can buy different flex of tongues on the the Full Tilt website. You currently have a flex rating of #6 but you can swap them out up to a flex rating of #10.
You can get the shell bolted to stiffen them up. It's the best way to stiffen a full tilt IMO as even an 8 or 10 tounge are pretty soft. Basically you get holes drilled through the cuff tht also go through the clog. From here you can have it bolted or riveted. But you can also often stiffen boots by fitting them better. Alignin the foot with a footbed can stop you flex across the boot making it feel stiffer. You can also try raising the toe slightly in compassion to the heel but you need to take into account the Achilles flex when doing this. Overall take the boots to a good fitter and they should be able to help you out
Don't try it your self make sure you have a shop make any adjustments. That way you know what ever they do is safe to ski. But hopefully you can get them sorted untill you can get new boots.
Well hopefully you can stiffen them up nicly. If not dont worry you will certainly find as good a fit if not better from an overlap boot, which will ski much better too, but as I say hopefully bolting and having them fitted helps.
