I know exactly nothing about prom. I was asked by this ski chick i chill with who is wicked rich and needs a date to her senior prom (she's a solid 8.5). Being a young poor ski bum who's parents are ass holes I will have to try to be ballin on a budget. It will be with a high end boarding school so whats up with like prespster/douche style now a days? Rent or buy a tux? Does Saga make tuxes? Jiberish?? Also how do I get my parents to let me after party? Generally prom tips would be nice. I know that there'salready like probably at least 20 threads on this but whatever.
This kid I know wore some shiny gold tights as part of a costume on Halloween and stuck a brautwurst or some shit in there and chicks were lookin at it all day. too bad he pulled it out and slapped a kid with it or he coulda been droppin hella panties.
rent a tux with a tie matching the color of her dress. You have to get that wrist thing that they wear i forget what its called and you have to get the flower to put on your tux, all have to be matching.

Also...You can get a 1,000 dollar scholarship if you make a tux out of duct tape. Since you are a, "young poor ski bum who's parents are ass holes" that seems to be your most logical option. As far as legit things tuxes are like 100/ 100+ to rent. Hopefully you don't have to buy tickets or they're cheap. And hopefully they have food there and you don't have to pay for some fancy meal before.
That said if you think she'll put out disregard all of the above and go for it.
buy a decent suit. you can get good ones for like $2-300 and it is something you will need in the future so you may aswell.
i have no idea how old a "sophmore" is, but if you are worried that your parents arent going to let you go to the afters then you sound like a 13 year old.
get her a corsage, its like a flower bracelet thingo. its pretty much expected over here at formals, but not a clue with proms.
its pretty standard for your date to buy your ticket and a heaps low move to make you pay for it.
