Well, i need new pair of park skis for next season, been skiing AR7, cant complain, great ski, but now i am looking for something bit softer and playful, deciding between these two, because of its wider platform as i want to use them also as an allaround ski. I am also very interested in durability mainly Al Dente i heard edges don´t hold up too well. Anyone who rode these two or has some experience with it please help me k+
Al Dente's edges are fucked, they will wear out so easily but apart from that they're a good fun and playful ski if you take care of them they could last and don't do stupid shit like throw your skis on concrete or anything like that... Never heard anything bad about the alpha's although they are stiffer than the dente's. I'd also suggest if you want a durable ski i'd go for the halo 2, it's a little stiffer than the dente but is more durable although it's not as wide
I ride Alpha X's and my brother has Aldentes which I've rode. I've rode mine all year no problems with durability. The aldentes have also been solid in terms of durability, Armada knows how to make a solid ski. In terms of performance, they are pretty different. The aldentes are a lot softer, and while you can butter the Alphas fairly easily due to the rocker, the aldentes are even easier. Being softer, they are a little less forgiving on big jumps, but as long as your not landing backseat they are fine. I prefer the Alpha X's because I like the stiffness, but I don't think you can go wrong with either ski. I would recommend not getting the halos because they are cheaper, and everybody I know with Halos/alpha 2s has had them delam at the tip fairly quickly.
