yesterday I was thinking to my self "what did they do with the jibs after the winter olympics". And along winter X-games. Like does a Mountain get given them or does the mountain that hosts that event get to keep them??
The cost of the features are most likely factored into the bid that the mountain puts in to host the event so they're probably paid for already and are kept by the mountain.. unless spt takes them back for other events or rebrands them.
I know in Tignes anyway they throw the features from Euro X in with the Park they have there. So its kind of a cool way to seeing if you can 1 up a pro on some of the feauters.
Except not. I've been to a lot of mountains and have never heard any say out loud "you guys want to hit some jibs" or "did you see the new jib they made" or anything like that
That's because when you're on the mountain you have the rails, boxes in front of you and you can be more specific but if you're talking about the x games features then it would be smart to call them jibs to avoid a long list of features
I may be way off on this one but in a recent edit from bear mountain it look like the red bull features from xgames. I didnt pay that much attention but they had the brick design on them. But it would make sense for aspen to get to keep them
I'm pretty sure I remember seeing in the SPT show that they take them back to there factory, rebrand them, or take them apart/cut them up into new rails...
As other have said course is opened to the public with slight mods for safety. Jibs are reused throughout the rest of the Jacobs ladder park at buttermilk in later years. I recall the joystick feature from Sammy Carlsons winning year being set us this season when I was there last month.
