a week ago i took a pretty heavy fall. i scorpioned, causing my right ski flew behind me and the tail hit me in my right kidney, completely tearing it in half. its been a rough week and finally all my vitals are stable and the bleeding has all but ceased. im looking at a long road to recovery, doctors estimate between 6-8 months.
for the next several weeks i cant get out of bed. once im able to do that, the only movements im allowed to make are those that get me to class or to the bathroom, hopefully enabling me to finish out my final semester of college.
i havent had much experience with the usual knee surgeries or falls many of us take. im usually an incredibly active individual, and so going from that to no movement whatsoever has been hard to say the least.
do you of you have an experience with an injury like ive sustained? i basically cant move, and the small movements i do make cause agony in my right side. how have you coped with being bedlocked for months at a time? how do you stay entertained? im still in the hospital right now and so im either sitting down or laying down which is honestly starting to feel very uncomfortable. i finally was able to refuse the pain pills today, good in the long run but life in a hospital bed is much more monotonous without them..
any and all advice or ideas appreciated. all i have is time to try them out..
