I almost died.

So I was driving with my friend today and long story short he wasn't paying attention and almost killed us both. The person in front of us stopped suddenly and my friend swerved avoiding rear ending the guy and we drove against a hill and the car was almost 90 degrees on it's side when we finally stopped. Somehow the car had no damage and we drove off fine. I'm still shaking.

Have any of you had experiences like this where you just think " Holy shit. That could of ended with me dead." ?

Yup, last summer I was driving home from baseball and had the top and doors off my jeep. I came to a stop at a stoplight and after the light turned green went to go straight. Someone coming from the right ran the light going about 55 and missed the front of my car by about 6 inches. If I would've gone a little quicker he would've t-boned straight into me, and without a door I would've been a mess. That really freaked me out and I just kinda sat at home that night and thought about it.

Yep. Was driving, barely made exit at 100 MPH. slid up the overpass, headed to pole, somehow got back on the road. no damage. just life.

Was driving to Cooke City last week with two snowmobiles in tow.

Lost control, saw the snow bank coming, didnt know what was on the other side, thought it was a cliff and I almost jumped out.

Car ended up on its side, sleds were fine, used them to tow us out.

Quite the day.

So I was riding in the passenger seat and it was raining in SoCal so nobody has any idea what the fuck they're doing and we were doin 70 on the freeway. Behind us there was a cop who was making huge S turns across the 6 lanes to slow the traffic literally 50 feet behind us down. All of a sudden I heard a loud bang, like a gun shot almost, and the car started spinning out at 70 mph. We bounced off the guard rail and changed directions and finally came to a stop after 4 full spins. The lady who hit us had hydroplaned and went full retard and slammed on the brakes and totaled our car. I think for at least 3 months I couldn't get in a car without being scared shitless and even 4 years later I'm still uneasy about driving in the rain.

I was riding some from a new years party with a few friends, the driver hit ice while on a curve on the highway, we did a full spin, then hit the snow bank flipping our vehicle. We pulled it back over, and then pulled it out with a tractor and drove home. There was almost no damage to the vehicle, i think only a few scratches and no one was hurt at all

Last year around the first time it snowed I hadn't gotten my winter tires on yet, as I was driving to my friends down a shitty country road I moved just a little to the left and as soon as my tires touched the snow I lost all control. The car started to do a slow 180 into the other lane and it was the scariest fucking thing ever because I could see this dump truck ripping straight for me and I would have been fucked. Thankfully I slid onto the shoulder of the road like 3 seconds before the truck would have turned my cavalier into scrap metal. Lesson learned, my snows are always on way before the first snow is expected.

I dont know if I would have died, but once before a slalom, I was skiing down to the course, loaded up my skis, and saw myself headed straight for a metal snow gun. Luckily I was able to throw my feet around to just avoid going right for it.

A much shitter feeling is the one where you come really close to killing someone else. A chick jumped in front of the cargo van I was driving, I hit the breaks and honk at her, she starts sprinting but her heel broke and she face-plants in front of the van. I pulled up about 6" short of her. We where both pretty shaken, she pissed herself, I was pretty loose butthole.

Yeup. Was on a motorcycle and the person in front of me slammed on her brakes to try and make a turn before oncoming traffic. Locked up both wheels and skidded to the right of her by maybe 8 inches. Was shaking for the next 3 hours.

Was doing some low canyon flying last summer and didn't see a logging guide wire that ran across the canyon until it was about 200 yards away, so I had to duck under it. I was already about 100 feet above the river so I could see the tree tops pretty clearly. Fun, but almost shat myself.

-at 7, my appendix ruptured while in surgery. Infection was supposed to have killed me in 2 days.
- in 2008, a 3T boulder fell 3 feet from me when I was belaying my friend. That was supposed to crush me.
- 2010, I almost drank rubbing alcohol to end my life
-This year, a 1.5 avalanche slid from underneath me.
-This year I hit a tree in Revelstoke. Last minute ditch saved me as I slammed my skis on the tree.

These were the really close calls.

i was in a bus full of people with construction gear filled way over capacity (3 to a seat, people sitting in isles) and as we were driving through the countryside, we veered off one of the windy ass dirt roads and into a pond. the bus tipped over on its side and started to fill with water, but thankfully didn't roll over upside down further in and the pond was shallow enough that we weren't completely submerged.

that was kind of scary because there was no way any of us were getting out as crammed in as we were. we needed someone to come pry open the front doors halfway under water so we could all swim out and around to land as we couldn't even figure out to open the emergency door at the back of the bus. old ass bus, im sure that thing was jammed shut.

bit of a "holy shit we're going into the water, holy shit we can't get out and we're all in heavy ass gear" moment.

Two days ago I was in a coach bus with all my friends coming back from Quebec City. We were driving through a snowstorm and the driver had already been driving for like 11 hours, so he was speeding ridiculously trying to get back on time. We were driving through blowing snow and couldn't see 100 feet in front of the bus when the tail lights of a pickup truck just came out of nowhere. We swerved to the left missing it by literally less than a foot; almost putting the bus in the ditch at about 80km/h. I guarantee if we hit the truck or over corrected, it would have been extremely messy.

I'll bite, like 3 winters ago me and a few buddies were cruising in his outback down the highway. it's around 9:30pm so it's dark out. he mentioned something about how tired he was, we didn't really pay attention. 10 seconds later, the cars veering off the highway, we wake him up and he cranks the wheel all the way to the right and we slide across 3 lanes into a ditch. I was fuckin jacked on adrenaline right after, felt like just hit a massive cliff or something

My best friend, Nolan had just got a car this summer. It was a pathfinder, nickednamed the driftfinder because all we did in it was go on dirt roads and fuck around. My other buddy and I hopped in, with him driving. We told nolan and all and just kinda drove away. We were pretty stoned at the time, it was summer and we were feeling pretty invincible so neither of us buckled up. We went booting up this dirt road and it was all good for the first bit. He didn't really know how to drive but yolo, right? We got to a pull out and turned around and he started drifting downhill. He had no idea what he was doing and on the last corner he decided to speed up instead of slow down at all. He lost control, overcorrected three times, and then we made eye contact. Before the corner we were doing around 70km/hr. He had his foot on the gas the entire time. We went off the road, nearly flipping, into a tree. The tree hit the door right next to where I was sitting, and the car kinda half rolled. After some of the dust settled I realized my buddy was at my feet, we were on the edge of a big fucking hill. We both got out and it was all good, but I can honestly say I shouldn't be here right now.

i was in class and there was a loud bang like someone slamming a locker or something than two more and everyone just froze. then the intercom came on and said we are in lockdown. it was like 15 minutes before the police came and we were told to run across the street. without a doubt scariest thing ive ever experienced. the sketchiest part was that the shots went off in the library where i had been 15 minutes prior.

Heres my typical red light runner story

We were driving to the coast, usuall no cars at all at the small stop light intersections at small coast towns. A car came out of no where(we couldn't see it because the crops were covering that road) no one really had a right away but he was going 2x faster than he should have. He came at us, and our driver swerved away barely, we rode straight to the ditch. If we were off by a couple more minutes 6 people+ easily could have died. Was shaking for a while...

Friend not paying attention texting in driving. Almost hits a light pole going 50 in a 30. I grab the wheel and steer the car in the opposite lane landing us into a field. pray to god there was no oncoming traffic.

I was walking along the side of an English country road (i.e. no sidewalk, single track road). A car came past me at about 60 mph. I thought "If I was stood two feet to the right that car would've killed me".

Junior year of high school after tennis practice I was walking through the parking lot and I was wearing one of those kinda frilly tennis skirts and some stupid connecticut hick was packing a lip while he was driving his truck and almost pins me up against another car. It was so close that it actually caught my skirt in between the two.

Some kid died today at Whiteface, 22 year old snowboarder from Rochester, I guess he was cut off by someone and flew into the trees, detached Aorta, blown out eyeball, and crushed jaw, board split in half... helmet didn't help anything. Crazy shit.
