I miss double chairs

I know they were slow as fuck, but honestly... the double chair was such a key part of the intimate relationship you'd form with fellow skiers.

Quads and 6-packs get people up the mountain faster, but nothing touched the bond of the double chair.

Right?

Lutsen has the king of sketchy doubles. Bar in the middle, and barely enough for you to sit on each side

A couple people have mentioned Summit at Whitewater. So goddamn sick. Some of the best pow terrain available. Whitewater only had doubles (two of em!) until about three years ago when they stepped it up and installed the three seater "Glory" chair.

I really like Alp Ruschein at Laax. They have the sickest big BBQ cooking up Weiss Wurst in the summer and there is a cool cliff ridge and hut thing on skier's left.

I'd way rather have doubles and small lift lines than high speed quads or 6packs and longer lift lines. It takes the same amount of time to get up the hill but there are way fewer people shredding the mountain.

Bridger Bowl used to have all double red lifts. Now only Virginia City still remains. My fam has a piece of what was once traditional OG bridger.

It's "pali", and a lot of lifts are better than pali (even though I love pali). Pali might be one of the best doubles in Summit County though.

100% double slow speed chairs at mt spokane in washington!!

gotta say tho, i love double chairs just for the fact that its easier to light a bowl on em. Hate going to shhweitzer and not being able to light up on the lift due to the winds of a high speed lift.

At this little ski hill in Austria they have this t-bar that separates the men from the boys, the wheat from the chaff, starts off nice and gentle until half way where it feels like it goes near vertical for about 400ft. If someone ahead succumbs to the steep incline then immediate evasive action is required as they come down like a greased bowling ball. When i was 4-5 i would ride this lift with my dad and he would be in agony at the end as the t-bar would of been round his calves. Ah good memories
