Replying to Out at a bar, saw a woman get pushed and verbally abused
So tonight I was out at a bar with some friends, drinkin a few beers, nothing too crazy. There's an open table next to us and this guy shits down. Smells of cigarettes and already looks like hes fucked up in some way. Soon after a woman walks up and sits down, they start drinking, I start thinking if they are on first date and just being an onlooker at two people who are very drunk.
As the night progresses I can hear him starting to get a bit rowdy. Hes talking much louder and being quite an asshole. When they are going to cash out I am hoping that someone has called them a cab because the guy is practically falling over trying to sign his name. They begin to argue about what kind of tip to leave. He wants to walk out with no tip and she is saying that's not right he needs to leave some money.
Eventually she says something, gets gently tapped, steps back in and gets forcibly pushed. At this point I am staring at the guy trying to let him know that I see what he is doing and I think that it is fucked up. I don't say anything because I feel as if it's not my place and who the hell knows who or what this guy would do if I did.
The woman is giving me a look of "help me" and I don't know what to do. I am literally staring straight ahead trying not to say something. Eventually my girlfriend and her friend walk towards the bathroom and motion to her to join. They take her in and talk to her, few mins later she leaves alone. He is way too drunk to notice. My girlfriend and friend come out and try to find her, but can't. They were going to drive her home. So I go out looking for her and see her walking along the street.
I eventually catch up to her and talk to her for like 15 mins. She promises to not let him into her apartment tonight and all that. Says she is done with him, blah blah blah. I feel terrible that this happened to her and still feel uneasy about leaving the situation alone. I am pretty sure hes gonna go there tonight and feel like there was more I could have done.
NS how do I help this woman, or is there nothing else I can do and I have to leave it up to her to fix it.
TLDR: Out at a bar, drunk couple, woman gets pushed and verbally abused, I go after her and talk for a long time with her. Then she leaves and I am worried hes gonna come over and beat her.
