Good sites to order skis online

While I have never personally bought from untracked I am yet to hear of a negative experience. As far as other shops go most people prefer evo or backcountry though there are definitely others to be considered.

Considering that your in Canada you might want to consider a Canadian online store like D-Structure, Axis or Comor.  When buying from Untracked which is a US site, you have to consider the shipping and duty that are added onto the price.  But to answer you question, Untracked is a legit site.

Legit or not, they marked up their retail prices like hell to make their savings seem more amazing than they are

this is why you don't go on the saving you go on the price, savings is a bullshit scam to think you're saving money

A nice as it is to save a few dollars online it's usually not worth it. Buy from a shop they will generally mount bindings for free. That save you 40-75. There will also be no shipping so again 25-50 saving. Lastly and most important buy from a shop and you will be able to warranty the skis much more easily. So although skis may seem cheaper when you add it all up you will prob fun your local shop is actually your best option.

Go to a local ski store.
Support the little guy.
You will get just as good of a deal due to end of season sales.
Just don't be that kid who orders all his shit online then takes to the shop to be mounted or when there's a problem and doesn't get the service they would get otherwise.

Just not true IMO. First- find a good shop that charges a decent price for mounting the bindings- not $75. Even with that, I have yet to ever see the type of savings you can get online at clearance sales- sometimes they're close but honestly buying a pair of skis online can save you $100 easy. Of course you can find a some old pairs for 40%!off, but often not the in demand or popular skis. Also , online shops like evo almost always have free shipping on skis. Not to mention warranty issues are very easy with big shops like that- they are big customers for the manufacturer, and often they get warranties through more easily. Only downside there is time, but often if you send pics they can get a replacement shipped out to you without sending gear first.

That's not to say I don't try to support my local shop whenever I can. Mountings, tunes, boots always go with them. If I can get gear there for a similar price to online I will. But usually you just can't. for most people, saving $100-$400 total (saved $125 on bindings alone this year, skis $200) is a big deal.

It also depends on where you live... I live in the small country Denmark and the price in my nearest shop for a pair of park ski's is about 1000-1500 DKK (133€-200€) more expensive than if I order them online from Austria. It's so expensive that I don't have any sympathy for them and they are even part of a big chain of shops...
