What skis and bindings should i get? I'm 13, a little over 5 feet tall and weigh around 90 pounds. I'm looking for a park ski but I will ski downhill some with them. What would you recommend I get? Thanks for looking and any good input
Squire bindings with K2 Juvys thats what i had when I was your age and size. It was great because now with new skis I can still use the squire bindings. I loved the combo!
I mounted mine a little to the back because I thought it would be good for downhill (carving and that stuff) but it really sucked and now that I have center mounted skis I am so much happier and I can still carve pretty hard with center mounted skis
If your going to get some binding I'd go with the squires at the least they were my first pair and I still use them. Also Masterminds might not be a good idea if you start to go hard your gunna end up with a snapped/ extremely delaminated ski. I think the Elan slingshots would be a good fit, those are buttery, easy to ride for smaller riders.
ill probably mostly hit jumps. will do boxes and rails every once in awhile. I will go outside the park some. Park, im starting, but downhill im a pretty good skier. Price doesnt really matter as long as its not insane
I would recommend spending more on the bindings. With some luck you can make bindings last a solid 5 years and squires won't do that for you when you out grow them. Go with some tyrolia attack 13 or look px12. Budget bindings that will work for you now and will work for you down the road.
As far as skis go with something cheap that has the edges intact and isn't delaming. You are going to outgrow the skis quick and most likely thrash them against metal rails. Go with a good deal with a mid flexing ski. Look into used if that's an option.
I would say Salomon Suspect 151 with the Look px12. Durable and good all around skis. Very durable bindings for a good price. Your local ski shop will determine your din.
