Not exactly, it's mostly a experience with doing it will make it easier/ you will quote Jobs better over time. I would like some advice crime people with experience quoting construction before.

well there are different types of roofing, very different if you're doing residential vs a commercial building. i don't know roofing well (my area is concrete) but i assume generally production rates are based on square footage, probably varies with pitch if it becomes significant (residential mostly).. resources like RS Means and similar can probably give you production rates or man-hours required. if you're just starting the class and they havent taught you anything it sounds like expectations would be pretty low for accuracy here
