I know this should go on trick tip forum but for sake of actually getting responses I put it in here.

I got 270s on down today, on the box I have pictured. I wanna take it to rails/flatbars/tubes also in the setup I have pictured. Any tips as to how to spot your landing better, and also how to clear your tips more consistently?

And k+ for any midwest skiers who are enjoying this amount of snow in March

Knees in to chest and commit. Im from michigan! Loving the snow. Can't ski yet. Season ender in early January. But I get cleared to ski tuesday!!!

I just recently got my first one too, so I may not be the best person to take advice from...

but, as the guy above me said, make sure to tuck by bringing your knees up. Also, try to land in a wide stance so that you can lock on to the rail without sliding out.

I struggle with getting 270 onto the down rails. With Flats and boxes I just make sure to pop enough. I need to be pretty high up and have decent speed to stick them though. Off is so much easier haha!!

there are two ways of doing it for me.

1. come up to rail at an angle, spin on while always looking around for the rail, and when you land on rail, get low and scissor as if you were going to do a back 2. This way is easier for flat rails and features with little airtime between the lip and the feature. This is definitely hard to get down, especially for flat bars for me. This way also gives you a good setup to do a continueing 2 out or 4 if you have the a good lock

2. This is definitely the preferred way for me since it is much more controlled, clean, and smoother. come up to the rail (only really works with urban) and spin having your head watching the rail and stopping the rotation of your shoulders and head at 180 degrees (or a little past 180), but keep rotating the rest of your body to 270. This is not always a comfortable feeling and will take longer to perform comfortably, but when you land on the rail, you conterbalance yourself almost instinctively and have much more control on the rail. Every time I do a 2 on this way, it is much more comfortable to come out switch instead of continueing to forward. This is definitely best for urban down rails though since airtime is needed to get used to it.

This is my personal experience and I am bad at explaining things so if you have a question just ask.

I always get on the box/rail but since its my unnaty side i always bail out. Do any of you spin unaty to get on naty? Or shound i just practise sliding unnaty??

You have to want it and stay forward for a down rail, don't have any fear or you'll land back foot heavy and slip out. Also I'm from southside minneapolis.

When I spin or switch on I land unnaty and it's way easier to slide versus just poppin on unnaty. I slide right foot first but look switch over my left shoulder. It's weird.

the most important thing that has not been said is tips up. when you pop, you should really be up on your heels, toes up even higher. that will help with (urban) tip clearance.
