Ground loses contact with flight from Kuala Lampur to Beijing. Says they would have run out of fuel by now. Pretty crazy stuff.

idk man, a lot of things that have happened in GTA have happened in real life at some point in time. stealing a plane without leaving a trace would be a fucking hard task to pull off, but in today's day and age with all of the technology out there it's definitely on the list for possible explanations for how it could go missing.

General consensus seems to be that they turned west. Strange because it means they may have flown over land before probably crashing into the ocean

THEY FOUND ATLANTIS. How has nobody come to this conclusion, clearly the pilot saw it from above and knew the only reasonable next step was to go for it. So he did a nosedive down, the window to Atlantis is only open for so long. They entered into the city below and safely landed. Atlantis doesn't have the best comms, so expect to hear from them in 7-10 business days (Atlantis works on Saturdays, keep that in mind).

something is up. where is the black box? there is only one incident in history when a black box was not recovered: september 11, 2001. i guess that makes 3 incidents, then... but lets not get into all of that shit. and if it was hijacked, how does it fall off of radar? even if all electronics failed, there is still old school passive radar that shoots waves from the ground and watches for the rebounding of the waves off of objects... black boxes are designes to withstand explosions, submersion, basicly any worst case scenario you can think of. if the box stays missing, some super double secret probation shit went down and well never know untill some hourly dude comes forward and doesnt quite blow everyones minds with the not so revealing revelation that world leaders lie and manipulate to extremes.

Give it time, its only been a couple days. It took two years for them to find the black boxes from Air France 447. It's also pretty hard to find something when you don't know where to look.

There are also several incidents where black boxes were found. I think the biggest one was a varig flight, I think varig967 that just completely disappeared. No trace has ever been found.

Contrary to popular belief, planes do disappear. Into the ocean, into mountains, wherever. Unusual to think of in modern times, but it happens

Dude, it takes time. They haven't even found the plane wreckage yet.

It took two years for investigators to find the black box for Air France 447. Two. Years.

You can hold off on the conspiracies for the time being.

The chance of the plane being stolen is so damn slim in my mind. A 777 can only land at certain airports.. The resale value on one would be non existent as the fact the plane would easily be recognizable without getting a multi million dollar paint job. Unless there is some sort of black market for that... Which I don't know about that. It would have been utterly pointless to steal a god damn 777. Also stolen passports are a LOT more common around the world than many people might think. Especially in areas like that where regs are just so so. The fact that 2 of them were stolen means next to nothing. Lets get the whole idea of a plane being stolen out of everybodys headss. Terrorism? Maybe. Stolen? EXTEMELELY unlikely.

Agrees that the chances are extremely slim. But at tje same time, why would it divert so far off course? Autopilot\navigation could have failed, but the pilots prolly would have noticed that the plane was heading the complete wrong way. Everything about fhis just seems really suspicious. Almost like it wasn't an accident

because the black box is in the plane that they cannot find? it took them 2 years to find the black box in Air France Flight 447. And i think they only recovered half the plane.

Its sad to say that that is the best case scenario and that the people are still okay, but its too early to tell. Personally I find the chances way to slim to even consider it though. I could go into a whole shpeel but nobody knows any cold hard facts yet.

i've read reports that some of the cell phones belonging to passengers are still ringing thus indicating that they're still turned on. not 10000% sure of the validity, but if true, then that makes this even more mind boggling.

Some expert said that phones ring when they are searching for signal...

But thats just not right my brother broke his phone last week and it went straight to voice mail soooo I don't know what the fucks going on.

What? Flight data and cockpit voice recorders are typically equipped with underwater locator beacons. Emergency locator transmitters in something the size of the 777 would typically be waterproof and would either be activated by impact g-force or the water itself to transmit a distress signal.

a silent and dark fuselage full of victims underwater at the bottom of the ocean and there are still phones ringing and lighting up inside of it.

Okay firstly; the phones ringing mean nothing. Watch the CNN clip on YouTube. The ringing on a phone does not simulate the other phone ringing, just connect to the network.
At this stage I think most probably cause rogue pilots in my opinion, just by deduction. Would have had to been a CATASTROPHIC failure of not only engines etc, but electronics and radio to privet pilots from sending mayday call.
Terrorism all but excluded now we know passport holders.
That 'cabin air pressure' theory about suffocating all passengers makes sense to some degree, yet doesn't explain how the plane did a u-turn, if indeed it did.

So interested to see how this pans out.

i obviously cannot attest to every phone company in the world, but in my experiences, all phones go straight to voicemail when they're off/no signal.

and to the dude that said waterproof cases - those are only waterproof in shallow depths....for instance, lifeproof cases are only waterproof up to a couple of meters. there are no cases that are waterproof at ocean depths.

One man said that the QQ account of his brother-in-law showed him as online, but frustratingly for those waiting desperately for any news, messages sent have gone unanswered and the calls have not been picked up.

not when they are roaming/out of range. since the cell phone company cant find the phones (100ft under water) they ring for a few seconds before the company can determine the phone is off/out of range/unreachable/destroyed whatever you want to call it.

how about some of the phones still showing as online with QQ instant messenger service?

this whole thing is wild...it's crazy that they've found NOTHING....no seat cushions floating in the ocean, no debris, no nothing. i just can't fathom how something like this happens in today's day and age.

You're right. I'm just thinking that if the plane is at the bottom of an ocean how well the ELT will be transmiting. I know for smaller aircraft they are vhf based. I dont know if it's hundreds of feet underwater how well it's transmitting. If at all

I'm sure every major flight governing body is wondering the same thing.

If there is a silver lining with a plane crash (I don't want to diminish the severity of a plane crash) is that systems, maintenance, protocols, etc, get better as a result, making flight safer and safer. It's already the safest way to get around, but this does highlight some inadequacies in existing systems.

I wouldn't be surprised, for instance, if Boeing's AHM system becomes more or less an obligation for 777s and the like, not an option.
