Which Ski Do I Get? Help!

Ok, so I had another thread on here about Line Chronics but I'm not sure if that's the right ski for me so I deleted it. Basically, I haven't skied for over 15 years but I've been snowboarding that whole time, I grew skiing and did so until the age of 12 which is when I switched to a board and now I'm switching back.

I live on the East Coast and do most of my skiing here with the a week or 2 spent out west every year with my family. I want a ski that's able to hit a jump here and there but mainly ride the hills, trails, glades and powder when I come across it. I'm 5'11 and weigh 175lbs. My ability level I would say is intermediate because I still remember how to ski. I don't have a set budget but I also don't want to break the bank. I want a good pair of ski's that will last me awhile and I want twin tip. So I'm pretty much looking for a twin tip all mountain ski that I can hit some jumps with but still hit the glades and some pow. Does this ski exist and if so tell me some options. Thanks again guys!

I've seen that model before but it's sold out everywhere, So I'm still looking for more suggestions.

Seeing as your getting back into it look on Level9 sports and pick up something cheap and beat on em'. I would say look for something in the 90ish waist area, somewhat stiff, and full camber.

Take a look at the atomic blog, salomon rocker 100, armada arv ti or invictous, line sick day 95. They could work quite well for you. Do you want a park ski style ski though. There are loads of great directional all mnt skis like the atomic automatic or armada tst which will be great for all round the mountain but not much fun on rails. Personally I would look for a good 100mm underfoot all mnt ski and if you decide you want to ride park but a cheap park ski like an infamous.

I'm not gonna be hitting rails but I want a skit that I can take on trails, glades, light pow and hit the occasional jump. The east coast is mainly groomers and ice. I want a twin tip ski cause I want to learn to ride backwards too. My day's consist of mainly ripping trails and glades with a few detours through the park to hit a few jumps. Someone said I should look at the Armada AR7 but the sick day looks like a good ski too. The thing that sucks is there's too many options lol.

Atomic Theory would be perfect if you like a softer ski.
If you want more of a stiff charger, I would check out the Volkl Bridge.
Both skis would be great in variable conditions, east or west, and can still kick ass in the park.

If you're on the east coast I would say they are too wide, they won't be fun to ski ice on. Skis with a lot of rocker (JJs) do not hold an edge.

I would say 90-100. The narrower the better they will carve and the more fun they will be on rails.

2) Nordica Soul Rider
3) Line Sick Day 95
4) Line Chronic

I would go with the Chronics. Cheaper, durable, fun, carves pretty well. Plus the graphics are effin' cool.

even if i'll be spending most of my time hitting glades and traversing the mountain. I basically cut through the park and only hit a jump if I feel like it. I'm east coast so its mainly groomers and crud conditions unless I storm chase and hit up VT, thats the only pow I get, we hardly get anything more than 8 inches of pow here.

Oh yeah chronics will work. for 8" you want to be in the snow not on top of it.

Are they stiff enough? I'd prefer a middle/leaning towards stiff ski, so like like 6-7 on a scale 1-10

Go with the sick day 95. Those skis were so much fun to carve around on. You can still ride them switch fine too. For what you are doing they wil be a great little ski.

On a scale of 1-10 for stiffness what would they be? Do you suggest a certain length I should consider?

They were soft in the tips, maybe like 5, then mid underfoot and in the tail maybe like a 7, so pretty soft overall, defiantly not a stiff ski, but not a noodle like the Traveling circus.

At your height and weight I would go for the 179. They would be a great all mnt ski, and as I said I really enjoyed them.

I don't want anything to soft because when it gets choppy and cruddy out here I wanna be able to get through it with out feeling unstable.

Also Tom, when you based on the scale did you mean 7 being on the stiffer or softer side?

They certainly wont feel soft for you. What I meant is they are certainly not a race ski stiff but they are not soft. I could drive the edges hard without the ski feeling like it was going to fold, which is usual from line skis. Of lines range I would say they carve the best of there skis this year. Great all round all mnt ski imo

7 being on the stiffer side. I would compare them to a blizzard bonifide or a armada arv ti.
