Anyways, the kid who says "Nice to meet you, nice to meet you, is there anyone else that I should meet?" went to high school with me, and is literally the definition of a giant douche.
Fuck with him on facebook for me, his name is "Willis Nelson"
Ex Alpha Tau Omega here. Rushed, made it through pledgeship, and then left about a month later cause it wasnt worth the 900/quarter i had to pay even thouh i was living out of house.
Or is it because you're jealous that fraternity members are head-and-shoulders more successful than non-greeks? 85% of Fortune 500 executives are fraternity members.
I'm in a frat at my high school. It's pretty chill. The hazing is pretty brutal though.
also a lot of those "fraternities" being measured are actually educational frats and not "yo bro lets go get those chicks super wasted so we can actually get laid" fraternities. AKA tau beta pi type "frats". The idea of a fraternity being a networking community of intellectuals is a complete joke these days.
I agree. I was in a fraternity for half of college then dropped out pretty much towards the end. Had better friends outside.
But i will say, I had several solid job opportunities through the fraternity that i never would have received if I wasnt there. So I can see both sides (the hate/the support)
The thing I find stupid about these statistics is maybe the top people in some places are Fraternity/Sorority members, but I'd like to know what percent of Fraternity/Sorority members are actually very successful.
I saw alot of kids in Frat houses who were not going to be president, top of a fortune 500 company, or anything beyond working in a restaurant/retail. I gotta feel like the numbers are skewed.
I mean yeah. There will always be outliers in everything. You also have the non-greek kids who drop out. And also greek kids who drop out. Obviously not everyone in a fraternity is better than non greeks. But graduation rates are better across the board so you can't deny that.
But my thoughts are the outliers are the ones who are wildly successful. Not the ones who are bums and go nowhere.
Graduation rate are better but couldn't that statistic be skewed too? What are we comparing them to, the rest of the student body? I feel like of course if you take a bunch of kids who have saved tests, some smart kids to tutor some, and a bunch of drunks, the drunk idiots will get through the classes somehow.
And Fraternities are no better than anyone else. That is a dumb statement.
