Hahaha the Chainsmokers are actually pretty chill, listen to some of their other stuff. This song is mocking the heartless bro-step drops that contribute to 95% of popular electronic and dance music nowadays. That mixed with the concept of selfies makes for an overdone satire. The song is supposed to be annoying as fuck, that's the point. I'm surprised they had the balls to do this because a large portion of their fan base and people getting into their music probably won't get it and hate it.

Just because it's satire doesn't mean someone's obligated to find it funny or enjoyable. Odds are he understands satire but hates edm or whatever electronic subgenre this falls into. Same reason why a bunch of people on here would probably hate a satirical country song.

On a related note, there are a lot of terrible accents out there but the Valley Girl one is most definitely in my top3. I'd rather eat a used tampon than be stuck listening to that for more than an hour.
