Its not just bern, its the same as most helmets, hard foam which just protects your skull from cracking. Bern makes a soft foam version of most of their helmets which is very nice and protects against concusions.

We make helmets that are 100% certified. Just as safe as any other helmet on the market, just make sure you purchase a helmet that fits properly.

you also make hard hats that are completely worthless and are sold to people looking for an actual helmet by shop workers who do not understand the difference

I would say that it is the shops responsibility to better educate their staff. And to not display the hardhat, and EPS together.
I like Bern products, and what they stand for as a company.

but why even offer a hard hat in the first place and allow it to be on the shelf right next to the real helmet. For many shop employees the only information the get about a product is a brief description from a rep if they are lucky or they have to actually do research on their own which face it doesn't happen. The brand is just as responsible for getting the proper information out to it's retailers as the shop is to relay that info to the customer. I liked my baker, but the fact they even offer a hard hat is stupid.

The EPS is all hardfoam the hard hat as a thick soft foam layer as well, which is twice as protective against concusions. S if anything the EPS is a stupid helmet. Know your shit you newborn monkey
