PitolairasOne of the reasons why I wanted so hard to see the US national team get far in this World Cup, was so the american people got hyped about their so called "soccer" and start to learn what this sport is all about. It hurts my eyes reading some of the posts in here and makes me think that most of you (not everyone) has no clue what they're talking about. Anyway bitch made, but I just can't stand people talking nonsense when it comes to FOOTBALL.

And generalizing a group of people because they have a different name for something doesn't make you an asshole...?
.MASSHOLE.His point is that a team of that caliber should not disappear like that. Neither team is a defensive stalwart despite that game. It was more of an offensive failure than a defensive triumph IMO. It was a horrible game to watch as well.
We are not arguing he has been poor ALL WC, but rather that he has disappeared for periods only to reappear with moments of brilliance. This is not what he normally does for Barcelona. And I think you are smoking something if you think he has been brilliant all WC. He was invisible for most of the knockout games.

The only ones who arent confident or dont think Argentina will perform are those who arent argentine. They are very confident, dedicated, focused, and have PLENTY of support.

Chunter...who are you? That "article" was published from the UK based on a quote from Messi's father who just happens to live in Argentina. I think there is some knowledge about the sport and country within that link. If you are making excuses BEFORE a game, that comes off as if you are expecting to lose. Argentina is going to have very little support at that game, all of Brazil and Germany are going to be cheering against Argentina. The odds are stacked high against them.

Fun_dipDERS and Orange icon are so pro Argentina they refuse to acknowledge it's even possible that they could lose or so anything less than perfect. No point in arguing with them. They're just going to call you idiots and tell you how Argentina has done nothing wrong and how each player is the best in the world at their position.

DERS.do you know the history between the uk and argentina? i doubt it, but its safe to say their not friends politically or in the sport (islas malvinas and the 86 WC), so the source holds no weight. the old man is notorious for making excuses for his son, it has nothing to do with their expectations i think i would know better than you about that...
they have already closed off the streets to prepare for the celebrations that will occur. also they have about 70,000 fans in Rio right now (the stadium only holds 74,000), not to mention the rest of the continent supporting them.

MaineLandCollabUK is even worse, and they took what messi's father was saying the wrong way. he said "his legs feel like they are 100 kilos each" thats an expression in spanish that means he is nervous and under alot of pressure not fatigued. The british again trying to make argentina look bad, no surprise.
They will have more support than germany. Argentina is one country away, the maracana will be raging with Argentine cheering, garantee it will flood out any german peep, just wait for the game you will hear. And brazilians arent garanteed for germany. Neymar has even publicly told press he will be for argentina, so will alot of other brazillians.
.MASSHOLE.Same way Brazil made it to the semis, some luck was involved. To say a team eeking by 1-0 against Iran is playing "great" then you sir are a blind fan. They played WELL enough to advance, but to call that great is a lie. Any fan should be able to admit their team has not played well. I am a Germany supporter and was critical of them in both the Algeria and Ghana game. They have not been great, but they have been good enough to make the finals. There is a big difference.
The only team who played GREAT and did not make it far was Columbia. They were great to watch.

If brazil had made it through germany despite there bobbles i still would have considered them to have played great as well. Germany same goes for them. They played great also. Being as critical as you are i suppose no teams have played great.
DERS.if they loose than so be it, the better team will win. but i along with the 41 million people around me am gonna back the team, so excuse me for having some spirt.. they have done plenty wrong in this tourney, but when it comes down to it they are in the finals and have played better than the 30 other teams that are not. and no only messi is the best in the world, but the 22 other guys have done a pretty damn good job and deserve credit.
bring on the hate and doubt all you want, there is not a better place in the world to be tomorrow (besides inside the Maracana) than here in buenos aires. im lucky to be here to witness it all. so when your bitter or boasting on here tomorrow night about the results, ill be out partying my ass off it they win or rioting if they loose. should be fun no matter what, but i think they'll be bringing back the golden trophy to the obelisco.

Granite_StateDeutschland will triumph. Can't wait to rub that in Ders face. Germany's been playing far superior soccer to Argentina and IMO has had a tougher road as well.
Bakerpowwe are all arguing over a sport that is one of the most unpredictable in the world. none of us have any real idea what is going to happen.
