We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.

I think Brazil got caught up in their own story, the hype, and thinking they were divinely destined to win. Have played the whole tournament, and especially tonight, as if they would somehow win regardless of what they did.

idk man i mean, for one the world cup semis are way bigger than the nfc and afc games.
and regardless of what prime time means country to country, there is only one prime time per day where it is happening. so it makes perfect sense to have the games on different days IMO
i'm mostly speculating but i can't imagine what other reason there would be for it, and i can't think of any good reason to do both on one day besides fairness (which is a silly thing to expect anyway. (hopefully) random luck decides which teams you play, why would we sit around worrying about 24 hours difference in rest times?)
as i said, as a spectator im glad theyre not on the same day. it would make each game less of an event IMO

I wish they were on the same day. first of all because unequal rest is bullshit in soccer where players are running a 10k+ every match, but also because each match would be plenty of an event because EVERYONE wants to see these two as they are the most important TWO matches besides that of the WC final. Hence the AFC/NFC comparison. Though that's on a much smaller scale, it's important. They are the biggest two games leading up into the world's most watched annual event besides the Champions League Final.
They shouldn't be played simultaneously like the final group matches, but definitely same-day.

but with that said, that old man has probably seen his country win at least 3 world cup titles. most have never seen theirs win a single time.
