2014 FIFA World Cup

We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.

According to the news Concrete Ron has an injury so the already weak Dutch defence lost their key man.

But according to the same news Nigel de Jong is training again and may be recovered just in time, which would help the Dutch team's winning chances tremendously.

Kun Aguero is likely to be in the starting lineup. Di Maria is out. And Romero has played one hell of a cup and has saved argentina's ass more than a few times.

The did find the excellent Navas, without him, the woodwork, Rodriguez and the gross incompetence of RvP it would have surely been more than 0 goals.

I expect them not to, Argentinia is very much an offensive team with a weaker defence and so are the Dutch this would create space for some lovely attacks from both sides.

I've seen Romero play in his days for AZ, he is not the best keeper out there, not very consistent, one moment he makes a great save, the next he almost kicks the ball in his own net.

But we will see, it will be an interesting matchup for sure.

Will Kun Aguero last an entire game? Doubtful if you ask me. He has been injured for a long time and seems to have been rushed back a few too many times to be 100%. I would be shocked if he lasted more than 60 minutes.

True, but he's been good so far for Argentina, and it's not like Cillessen is a particularly great keeper either.

People love to go on about Argentina's defense, but so far they've been just as solid as any of the teams remaining, except maybe Germany. Obviously at this point all it takes is one or two mistakes and you're out of the World Cup, but from what I've seen there's no reason to think Argentina's defense is any more likely than Brazil or the Netherlands' to be the one to make those mistakes.

The biggest thing for Argentina will be trying to figure out how fit Aguero is, and if he can really contribute. Because if he played like he did in the group stages, it's probably better for Argentina to start someone else instead of him and hope Lavezzi and Higuain can help support Messi.

To be honest, he hasn't impressed me much with Argentina, much like Higuain and Lavezzi he can go missing.

I wouldn't want a player less than 100% on the field for that game. But that is me.

Honestly, I don't know if it really helps them. Against both Chile and Colombia, Brazil started at a really high tempo with lots of energy, but by half time seemed tired out and couldn't keep it up. Today seems to be more of the same, and against this Germany team, tired legs and minds will mean they give up lots of chances.
Like on that corner. Clever run from Muller, but lazy defense from Brazil.
