Granite_StateNah I dont think that was a foul at all. That was such a minuscule contact its ridiculous that that fucking diving clown went down.
I don't think it should be called a foul either, but, technically, a defender putting his arm out across the body of an attacker like that is illegal.

My point was that, even though that's technically a foul, it's still absolutely a dive.

Personally I think there's a big difference between dribbling through traffic and getting hacked at and knocked off balance, maybe not quite enough to actually make the attacker fall over, but enough to drastically increase the likelihood that he loses the ball, and the attacker going down, and dribbling at a defender one on one, easily beating him and having a lot of space to run behind him and get the ball, and getting kicked hard enough to be knocked off balance a little bit, and falling over even though chances are very slim to none that the attacker would lose the ball if he kept going.
Does Messi sometimes go down easily when he's getting kicked at illegally by two or three defenders at a time and increasing his chances of losing the ball because of it? Yeah, but he basically never beats a guy with space behind, feels a slight touch, and goes down. If Messi can reasonably continue playing the ball after getting kicked, he won't go down, which is more than you can say for the majority of players these days.
