We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.

Challenge didn't look that rash to be fair. He went in firmly and it certainly looked to be somewhat painful but I would have never guessed a fracture. Seriously couldn't believe Marcelo got out of that game without a yellow just for all the fouls he committed on Cuardado.

Belgium have looked the better team so far despite the scoreline. If Di Maria is truly hurt that will impact Argentina's chances today AND next game if they make it through.

I posted that before the injury. After Di Maria got hurt, Messi started seeing the ball a lot more and as a result Argentina unsurprisingly become more threatening.
Argentina looking a little better than they have so far. Moving the ball quicker, and their spacing is better. A lot of it is probably because Higuain is finally playing well, and not just with the goal. Don't underestimate how difficult that was to score one, despite being open. Having the ball come from behind you and having to half turn and shoot and still be able to get power and accuracy on the shot is incredibly difficult, and Higuain made it look easy.
Better team won today. Belgium didn't threaten in the final third, recorded one? maybe two? shots on goal all game. With a goalie like Romero, you need more than that. Hazard came up short once again this tournament. I think this was the decider game for them. I think now they will be able to get into the final, and if Germany doesn't make it, can take the title.

I'm not a fan of a few Argentinian players. Don't like Mascherano or Zabaleta, and I think they are too Messi-dependent. I wanted to see a team w/o a dependent superstar (Belgium, Germany, France,) win the tournament. And I want to see the end of South American winners in South American tournaments.
But yes, I think the Argentinian defense has surprised many people and actually hasnt been their weak point shockingly like I had thought.

Yes, hence why I didn't include them, but they don't have Messi who would worry me a lot more if Germany makes it to the final. RvP is a good striker, but I see Hummels having a field day with a player like him. Robben is good too, but he plays with these German players all the time, they know him.

Ha, true. I guess, yeah, if you're looking at it from a German perspective you'd rather play the Netherlands in the final than Argentina. Though an Argentina most likely without Aguero, and now maybe without Di Maria, probably aren't much more frightening, if at all, than Holland.

Messi is by far the scariest prospect. Stupidly agile and quick, which is not good if you are a German CB. I don't think Di Maria will be out that long either, he looked fine after the game.

Didn't think Belgium got outplayed. They didn't look good and I didn't think Argentina looked too good either. Messi was sharp on the ball as always and Higuain had a great finish and the defense continued to be respectable, but they didn't look dominant.
Witsel is what United want Fellaini to be imo. Can we swap them? Or can Witsel at least get the fuck out of Russia? Yes I know Zenit prob pays out the ass and he has no reason to leave the money behind, but one can wish.

Not sure what is up with the Belgians and bashing their opponents, first Van Buyten calls Klinsmann a shitty coach, now this, but it makes it hard to like them much. For sure. The Costa Ricans should be proud regardless. They went toe to toe with teams that on paper should have destroyed them.
