2014 FIFA World Cup

We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.

Dunno. Really strange decision not to start him, and really harsh for Kyle, who has been consistently good throughout the tournament and who I thought was one of the U.S.'s best players against Germany. Not to mention the fact that no Beckerman on the field means nobody on the U.S. can match up with Fellaini hair wise.

Geoff Cameron plays in the EPL against Fellaini, its a familiarity thing. He also has the size to match up well in the air.

But hair-wise, you are right.

Agreed, but Beckerman may not be able to handle the physicality of Fellaini and Witsel. I think Klinsman would rather be able to match up in the middle with physicality. We have seen what happens when a team can physically impose its will (Chile v. Spain)

Yeah, clearly that's what he's thinking. I guess we'll see how it works out. Klinsmann's got it right so far, so who am I to question him at this point?

i mean hamstrings are one of the most common soccer injuries. really any sport where running is a big part. hamstrings are the engine for your body. so naturally they take a lot of strain

I don't know. Klinsmann needs to put Beckerman on. Cameron has been useless, and matching up well with Fellaini means nothing if we can't get a little more of the ball.

after dropping my cable subscription in january i'm reduced to watching univision streamed on my tv because its the best HD i can find for the world cup. i barely understand spanish, but cannot process it as fast as they talk.

Yeah, I was just going to say. He's just not sharp tonight, can't seem to control anything. I think one of them needs to come off soon for Beckerman, or, hell, even Diskerud.
