Bakerpowthere were 2 rash tackles in the box by the mexican defense that went uncalled and by the 3rd he called it.
But only one of the three was actually a foul. Robben even admitted that he dove on the second one, and I think it's pretty clear that the third was also a dive. Yes, that first one should have been a pk, but, for me, if you dive as heinously as Robben does, you deserve to not get legitimate fouls called for you as payback for all the ones you con your way into. In this case, though, Robben did the brave thing and persisted through adversity, continuing to dive time and time again until he finally got that penalty he had worked so hard for.
Let's put it this way: Yes, Marquez's challenge at the end was a stupid decision and not well executed, but the cynicism of the dive from Robben and earning a pk that way to win the game far outweighs the stupid tackle from Marquez, and so it seems like a shitty way for the Netherlands to win. I think that's how most people are looking at it. Dunno if that makes any more sense to you or not.
