theBearJewI don't think they will "fix" the match. But I think were in for a boring one. The first 15-20 mins will set the tone. If one team comes out aggressive, we may get a good game. If both come out defensively, I don't think we will see much excitement. And if we get to the last 10-15 mins with a tie, I would expect the ball to stay near the center circle.
It just doesn't make sense for either team to really go for the win if the other isn't.
Very true. I definitely agree that the first 15 minutes will set the tone for the rest of the game. I think the main question will be whether Germany are more concerned about defeating Klinsmann, or thinking about the rest of the tournament and who they would rather face less down the road. From a neutral perspective you'd have to think they'd rather play the u.s. later on, if it comes to it, than Ghana, based on the first two games. In the end it probably does play to the u.s.'s favor that Germany know, regardless of what happens between Ghana and Portugal, that all they need is a draw to not only advance, but finish top of the group, just because in a world cup in a place like Brazil where it's very hot and humid at some of the stadiums, you'd have to think that teams don't want to be putting more energy into games than they have to.
