WattsReally? Zidane over Maradona? As good as Zidane was, and he was great to be sure, if not a little overrated, he was still, I think, a tier below those other guys you listed.
But who the hell really knows? I'm not going to sit around and pretend like I saw Puskas, Di Stefano, Best, or Pele play in their prime. All I know of them are the lists of things they've won and what I've seen on youtube.
I think Zidane was one of the most influential players on the international and club scene with his simplistic style.
This is how I would rate the players on an individual level
Individual Ability (ball skill)-Maradona
Vision-Zidane
Passing-Zidane
Scoring-Maradona
Obviously, the score is 2-2, but as a team player, Zidane was leaps and bounds above. He was the key cog in the engine to help his team win. Hence, if I was to look for a complete player, I would chose him over Maradona. But again, like you said, I did not see Maradona play as well as those other guys so my view is somewhat short.
