We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.
Great play by robben considering he was 30+ yards away from support when he received the ball yet still had to keep pace to stay away from chile defender

First or second? Maybe you could say he could have played teh first goal a little better, but it would have been an absolute insane save considering how deep he was on his line and how close nani was
That second goal he had absolutely not chance at stopping, the cross curled perfectly away from him and the header was a laser beam from about 10 yards away
His defense pretty much hung him out to dry on both goals, he made some amazing saves that game

I was referring to the second one. But you're right, just his attempt at the save seemed poor, probably because he had no chance.
The first goal, I felt like he was fucked no matter what. He stepped forward, Nani pulled like he was going to shoot, Howard made a move, and then you're fucked. Nothing you can do bout that.

Nah, it's something to do with his kids. He probably either just had one or just wants to pay tribute to them.

Yeah. Really blows that Mexico stumbles assbackwards into qualifying then gets an easy group compared to the u.s. and makes it out. But, credit to them, they've played much better in the last month or two than they had at all during the qualifying process.
Neymar is no where near the most valuable player in history. Players like zidane who made such an enormous impact. And have won world cups, euro, etc. Neymar has some work to do. I mean France pretty much called zidane up and asked him to play for them in the 2006 world cup. What did he do? Take them all the way and we all know how it ended unfortunately.
.MASSHOLE.I think most people would take Pele over Maradona. Personally, I would take quite a few players. George Best, Zidane, Puskas, or Di Stefano.

I think Zidane was one of the most influential players on the international and club scene with his simplistic style.
This is how I would rate the players on an individual level
Obviously, the score is 2-2, but as a team player, Zidane was leaps and bounds above. He was the key cog in the engine to help his team win. Hence, if I was to look for a complete player, I would chose him over Maradona. But again, like you said, I did not see Maradona play as well as those other guys so my view is somewhat short.

I think it's hard to argue that there has ever been a single individual performer in the world cup who was as good as Maradona in 86.

The 86 part I cannot argue with from what I have seen/read about.
I just see Zidane as being influential enough to make his teams worldclass due to his position and such
Out of curiosity, to all the north Americans who are talking about soccer like they've been following it closely all their lives, have you actually followed your whole lives or are you coming up with discussion points from quickly reading wikipedia articles?
