We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.

Well, since we are going by FIFA logic, it does not matter if it was intentional, it matters if it was deliberate. The referees interpretation of deliberate will change on a case by base basis. And this time, he called it a PK. Simple enough. It was a tough call, as it could have gone either way.

The win was never in question. I just do not think it was deserved and should have been a 3-0 win like you believed it should have been.
I didnt actually believe it should have been 3-0 I was saying this because Holland didnt play very well and could have played a lot better... It was a figure of speech if you will. As i said before, how far is hand is doesnt matter, it was no deliberate and unintentional. I'd rather not keep arguing about something that really doesnt matter as the dutch won anyway. To each his own.

Or maybe they just aren't as good as you think they are? Personally, they played about as well as I would have expected, and Australia slightly better.
.MASSHOLE.The Spain game was the best they have played in a long time and the result showed that. This game was a slightly below average game for them. People need to get off the hype-train for the Dutch and any other team in this tournament, Germany included. Look at Brazil, mediocre yesterday and Belgium, a dark horse for many, was subpar in the first half against Algeria.
People need to take this tournament on a day-to-day basis.

It's silly to declare the Dutch and Germans finalists because the Dutch won a game 5-1 with two goals that were clear goalkeeper errors, and Germans because they won a game 4-0 against a team that played with 10 men for almost an hour. Both teams have looked good so far, but it's early to say they should be the two teams in the final.
*SID*I think a 5-1 win against the reigning world champions is something to be proud about... So if there is any hype train there is also a reason .

It's another case of the automatic direct freekick in the box being a penalty rule being a bit shaky. It was a handball, certainly, but an unintentional one, and was the scoring chance that was going to be created by that cross anywhere near as good as a penalty kick? Almost definitely not. It's the rule of the game, but it's one of those times where it seems like a less than perfect one.

ChrisMcCandlessTrue. The defense was awful in that situation. There was no need for him to slide like that though.
I thought the same at first, but he is sliding over from the other side of the goal so he has no other option really. He could have gone for the ball, but then the player just pokes it forward. Casillas sliding like that makes him take a second touch and hopefully forces him to make a mistake or another player to get the ball.

Zero confidence. I have to imagine this is the LAST international game he will play.
Small sample size, but I would say Brazil lacks the finishing edge and creation while Argentina does not look like they are connecting on all cylinders. To be completely honest, I have no idea on who can win this Tournament. No one has looked like a sure thing. I need to see another German and Holland game before I can make a judgement on them. Same goes for Argentina though.

I still think someone from Europe will win the cup. They just look the best overall. I know it was only against Honduras, but even France looked excellent.
Really don't understand why Costa is still on the field. He hasn't had that many chances, sure, but the ones he has had he has done absolutely nothing with.
America might not be very good at soccer, but at least we don't fake injuries to try and get the ref to stop the game every time we have a lead. Lost a lot of respect for Chile after watching this game.
