We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.

He had a lingering knee injury from before the WC started. I think it was deteriorating cartridge, but I may be wrong and just making that part up. Though I know he did have a prior knee problem leading into the WC.
I read an article that I posted above that quotes a doc saying he could face career threatening injury if he doesn't rest the knee.

they played really well. if anything, the game ""should have been"" 2-2, the last goal was the only weak one (yeah PKs are categorically weak but that was a legit call, how she goes)

Shoulda coulda woulda. Australia has always been a stingy team to play against, and this result should not have been a surprised for they were playing for survival.
The Spain game was the best they have played in a long time and the result showed that. This game was a slightly below average game for them. People need to get off the hype-train for the Dutch and any other team in this tournament, Germany included. Look at Brazil, mediocre yesterday and Belgium, a dark horse for many, was subpar in the first half against Algeria.
People need to take this tournament on a day-to-day basis.

Every single person seems to think after 1 good game by almost any team (Brazil, Argentina, Holland, Germany) and they are favorites for the final. Yes the Dutch won 5-1 against Spain, but also got a lucky win after a horrendous goalie error against Australia. Simple enough. Was it a win? Yes. It is reason to celebrate? Hell fucking no. If they managed to win against Australia 3-0 or more, then you could say they are favorites. I will say the same thing about the Germans if they pull one out against Ghana as well. There is no "favorite" this year to win the WC. Any team can win on any given day.

I would say 2-2 would have been a fair result. Both teams could not capitalize on the final third.
The PK was deserved. He handled a cross into the box when his hand was about 10 inches away from his body! That is such an easy call. It gets called ALL the time. If the hand had been at his thigh, then it would have been an horrible call, but it was not.
Regardless, game is over. The result is set, Holland will go through and they better hope to god Croatia does not make it through. I see Mandzukic, Ratic, and Modric wreaking havoc.

It was not inches, it was a solid 6-8 away.
It doesnt matter how far away it was, it was unintentional.
