2014 FIFA World Cup

We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.

Wait is ESPNwatch dropping the free streaming? I was able to watch every game up until the Russia vs. South Korea game for free. Super good quality and it is ESPN. But when I tried to watch the Russia game it asked for a service provider and log in. I'd be super bummed if they dropped the free streaming.

typically you need to use the email you have for comcast to use ESPNs app, at least around me

This is also my prediction for the final teams and it seems more and more likely watching some teams who were previously very good lose and draw to the worst of teams.

Well, a couple reasons.

1. We like soccer.
2. If we don't like soccer, we support our country/another team
3. There have been more goals in these first group games in this WC than almost any in history so far.
4. The only other sport on TV is baseball.'

The flopping sucks but nothing can be done about it right now. So far all the games have been quite exciting except for Nigeria vs. Iran. Mexico v. Brazil was pretty exciting from what I have read and heard on the radio.

Mexico vs Brazil was a great example of a super exciting game where no one scored, at least to me. If all you can appreciate in a soccer game is the goals, you're gonna have a bad time.

Yeah, I never understood this need for constant gratification from american fans. If you're watching baseball, do you only get excited for the home runs?

I can't tell you how many exciting 1-0 hockey games I've seen...

I've seen incredible football games that ended like 9-3 with just field goals...

On top of that, when the USA scored that 2nd goal, I was probably more excited for that than I have for anything I've seen in hockey in years.

whenever I've google ESPN3 and tried to find the link myself it's always asked me to give a service provider. But when I find the link for ESPN3 on this deadspin artcile is has worked every single game

Still, never count any team out until they are actually out.

In Euro 2008 the Dutchlands beat WC Italy 3-0, WC-runner up France 4-1, the B-squad beat Romania 2-0 and then they subsequently lost to Russia 1-3 whilst playing like a sheet of wet blotting paper.

Everyone was expecting them to steamroll over Russia.

??? The only surprise losses or draws have been Spain and Uruguay, and the number of goals Spain lost by was the only shock, not the opponent.

Holland s. Australia. Two grinder teams with a very physical style of play. Should be an intense game (even though Australia is pretty doomed before the start).
