2014 FIFA World Cup

We are 100 days out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

I'm pretty excited. Even though USA is in a group of death if we can make it out we have a good shot of going beyond the first round of elimination. We've got a strong team and a good chance of doing better than any other cup.

definitely a pulled a hammy. going to spring from standstill. hamstrings are the engine of the body. for soccer players/runners/other sports where running is a large part of it. hammys take a beating.

I feel the injury is a plus for US. Johannsson is better than Altidore in my opinion. They just need to realize he's a quality player rather than a physical beast like Altidore.

Germany and also Portugal should be able to easily beat them based on the performances so far.

my thoughts as well. ronaldo needs to not be such a diva and actually play as part of the team and not expect everyone of his players to be at the same level as his real madrid team. if he does that they might have a better chemistry. if they can play better team ball it wont be a competition against either the us or ghana

This game though... we NEED to win. Just start getting possession and keep Ghana contained on the wings. They're going way too deep on that right side.

Agreed. Very undisciplined soccer to be honest, with both teams lacking a cutting ball on attack and a solid defense.

Germany should have no issues if they played the way they did against Portugal. Hopefully Portugal can rebound after those key personnel losses.

I feel like the problem with Portugal is that they WANT Ronaldo to be the superstar, and often sacrifice the pass to another to appease him. I imagine he would rather win a game than score a goal if it staves off elimination

During the Germany - Portugal game, one of the commentators made such an awesome remark about Ronaldo. Something about it being very likely that Ronaldo doesn't even notice his team mates on the field with him.

One man teams will get you no where but packing for home much sooner.
