RedPandaIs preworkout worth trying? I work out in the morning so I usually have 2 cups of coffee and then go to the gym. Isn't it just mainly caffeine in it?
BenWhitLast week of the crossfit Open started last night. THANK GOD. Between injuries
louie.miragsAren't the injuries the biggest gripe against crossfit for most people? I hate seeing bad form at the gym and when i've heard crossfitting brought up on the JRE, Rogan constantly hates on it. He likes to bring up the sacrafice of form to get more reps etc. Is this what the injuries are from?
louie.miragsI have not tried yoga (even though my girlfriend of 2.5 years has been a yoga instructor since we started dating) but it seems you may benefit greatly from it (well we all good) since you say you have/had flexible issues. She taught me different stretches and I have come miles since I started. The full body stretching is very important and seems to be as important (imo) as how much weight you're putting up.
TheHamburglarThis week was a deload for me, tried eating cleaner and less food, and doing more endurance & cardio stuff rather than heavy lifting to shed some fat (I hit 200 lbs and I'm 5' 8"). I realized I fucking hate dieting and I'm awful at it. I don't understand how bodybuilders eat such bland ass food. I'd rather be happy and eat delicious food than be miserable and eat rabbit food to keep a low BMI

louie.miragsI was drinking coffee too but between the heart burn and feeling super thirsty I tried c4. Now I am addicted. I work out in the morning too. Besides the caffeine boost the pump is legit too. Not necessary but worth trying. Most shops have 1 serving packets that you can try cheap. I drink mine no more than 10 minutes before I start or you may feel your neck getting hot and may even feel agitated and ready to burst threw a wall.
On another note I bought chucks last week and I am loving them for lifting. Now my running sneakers feel like a cast when they're on. I shouldn't have waited this long.
RedPandaI just ordered some, I'm excited to try it. Do you think it would be bad if I drank a cup of coffee and also drank the preworkout? Would that be too much caffeine? Because I love coffee way too much to give it up in the morning.
WheatDepends on your caffeine tolerance. I've built up a tolerance to c4 to the point where i have to take 2 scoops to feel anything. Give it a go and see how you feel. Its time for me to stop taking preworkout for 2-3 weeks to loose the tolerance.

HolteDo you eventually build up a tolerance to the tingling feeling in your face and lips?
Loco-Deer-SlayerPre workout is awesome, but you are right caffeine is the main ingredient to get you "hyped." I started making my own cocktail and its way way cheaper than buying C4 or whatever (6 month supply for $30-$40).
- Caffeine
- Beta alanine
- Citrulline malate
- Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate (AAKG)
- Taurine
- Creatine
- Kool-aid mix
In hind sight, the only ones worth keeping (to me) are in bold. I love those tingles from BA.
cobra_commanderI'm still over the 500/400/300lb thresholds for the big 3.

eazy.Anybody tried wrist braces/straps?
I broke my wrist a few years ago and broke my collarbone last year. We've just implemented front squats in our football lifting program and anybody that knows front squat knows theres two ways to hold the bar. But the wrists bent back kills my wrist and the bar across the front of my shoulders doesnt work because my collarbone protrudes and i caant keep the bar on my shoulders no matter how much i shoot my elbows out.
I'm just wondering if wrist straps could help me to have a better grip or if anybodies got experience with them. Thanks guys.

Chubz.Im in really really bad shape right now and i decided im going to get a membership to gym thats down the road from my work so im gonna stop down and start a membership next week (gonna go do it on payday cuz im lacking the funds for the activation fee and all that jazz rn) and gonna be committed to going to gym every day after work and doing a lot of cardio and heavy lift training.
Gonna try and go on a super strict diet as well. Really going to commit myself to this and get back into good shape. I hate being this out of it.
TheFapyou should start filming mountain bikers, you're basically hiking with heavy gear for 4 to 5 miles a day. Build up those legs
Chubz.i will probably dabble in that once i get out west but there's not a scene for that around here. we also don't have the terrain for it. But i could dig that, chilling in the mountains all day stacking shots would be awesome.

louie.miragsGood on ya for wanting to take control of health. But, you do not need that gym membership to start. Start out by changing one aspect of your daily diet meow. For example, no more soda (or any sugar loaded drink). Only have water and black coffee. Baby steps makes it easier not to fail and helps form habits. And maybe find an activity you can do in the mean time. Skiing is great but coming to an end. Maybe hike or bike ride? At least get moving. I hate seeing people buy memberships and pay the gym 30 a month and not even go! Go all in!
RedPandaMine is only 10 a month. Yay for YouFit. What are you guys paying for all your memberships? I'm curious to see how much everyone else is paying.
jblaskiI spent 3 years at Planet Fitness, $20/mo. But my gym decided to get rid of the benches and curl stations, so I finally dropped them. Just this week I signed up to Vasa Fitness, and I'm still at $20/mo. I'm pumped, because it's so much nicer. Way larger workout area, turf area with sleds, pool, hot tub, sauna, basketball courts, etc.

-benedettoDon't get LouieMirags started on ranting on PF
BenWhitI'm not going to post what I pay because it is flat out embarrassing and I am basically getting cuckholded by my gym but I love it there and won't leave
saskskierYou said your gym was owned by a Games champion. Can I ask who it is (I'm assuming it's Holmberg?)
I've been pretty lucky out here. I go to a cf gym, but only pay $50/month for an open membership. I don't go to any of the classes and just do my own thing in my own little corner. Sometimes I help out with coaches when the oly lifts are involved and hopefully before too long I'll head up an olympic lifting class. If that happens I probably won't be paying anything for a membership, so that's pretty sweet.

ABallsDon't go on a super strict diet right away, like Louie said. What I did when I first started cutting was just cut out certain things and compile them as time went on. Example: eliminate soda one week, cut back on sugar more next week, then drop sweets another week. Currently its very rare if I'm drinking something other than water, you just get accustomed to eating right and you feel a lot better, you'll get use to it.
