ABallsIs there a certain ingredient in whey that makes me bloated? Is there whey that doesn't make you bloated? Also, @JayDope you look incredible dude, congratulations.

p.hawksDepends on the brand, but isolate is usually the best. Smaller scoop (assuming ~25g per scoop) means less filler and therefore less bloating.
Started taking fish oil a few days ago. Started getting the fish burps everyone talks about today. Doesn't really bother me, earlier it kind of tastes like sushi (shocker there) and cantaloupe. With that said, it probably makes my breath smell like shit, gonna have to remember to bring gum to work.
One more thing. Anyone have any simple recipes they like. I'm trying to cook in bulk to save time/money and eat out less. Made 3lbs of chicken yesterday, and then I'm gonna sauté some peppers and onions, spinach, and then buy some sweet potatoes. Even though I really like these foods, I want some more variety (other than sauces). Also things that can last a week in a fridge/be ready to eat out of fridge in 5 minutes or less is a plus. Trying to do my cooking Sunday night and have food until Friday afternoon.
tusken_assraideranyone else get bad headaches from bcaas? thought it was just a lack of hydration and creatine but im definitely sure its the bcaas, like it comes on about 20 mins after my shake might cut down or stop supplementing them
ABallsJust picked up fish oil. It says on the package that it's coated to avoid fish burps and the pills are also smaller so they go down easier. I've thought about taking a multivitamin but I've heard mixed reviews on them.

Granite_StateJust broke the 165lbs mark. So about 5 lbs in 3 weeks or so. 10 lbs to go and a month and a half to do it.
p.hawksNice. I'm between 195 and 200, so about 10-15 lbs in a little over a month. Mid may I was 183, had a few hectic weeks, started work/lifting on June 2 and I've steadily been gaining. Even though I'm trying to bulk, I'm trying to eat relatively clean, I think body far has stayed constant maybe dropped slightly, but I definitely look bigger/more in shape, so that's a plus. Goal is to get to well above 200, hopefully 210-215 by the end of summer, then begin cutting at school but stay above 200.
juicedrummer11does anyone know of some good ways to maintain while still pushing myself to go up in weights?

p.hawksRegular workout and be neutral with calories. Energy in = energy out. Calories are a measurement of that. Burn more than you take in, and your cutting. Take in more than you burn, bulking, the extra calories are stored. To make it simple, if you lift, it helps rebuild your muscles, if not, extra energy is stored as fat. If you stay close to neutral, you can't really gain or lose weight.
In real world terms, just follow an average workout plan (8-10 reps,upper/lower split as either a circuit or do like 20 of post lift cardio, then 45 cardio another day for 3x a week, double that for 6x a week etc.). If you lose weight, increase calories, and if you gain weight, decrease them.
*N_Wist*I tried a different pre work out today because I stopped feeling the effects of the other one. Gotta say it tastes like shit..... BUT I didn't get any tingling and the focus was unreal, I think thats a decent trade off
louie.miragswhat kind did you try first and then what kind did you try last?
JayDopewell actually exactly 14lbs, due to the dehydration level and lack of carbs coming into the show i dropped a significant amount of weight, its normal to put it back on right afterwards. I actually weigh more now though than ever before, and my strength is through the roof and already put on more size than before the show, so im fucking stoked.
*N_Wist*First one was GNC Ravage, second 1MR
louie.miragsroger that.. I am trying to try another brand to try out after my c4 is gone
JayDopeso i ended up lacing 8th in my first national show, i was a little disappointed to say the least, i felt the guys who placed 3-5th didnt look good at all, and i wasnt the only person who thought that, had a few people tell me i got robbed including the founder of Silver Models, a pretty big fitness modeling agency in NYC, he actually wants me to contact him and gave me his card, but hey you live and you learn. Its so subjective to the judges, i was told i look awesome but they want a little more size, so ive already put on 15lbs since saturday and getting at it hard.
p.hawksMy trainer has a client who is a bodybuilder and owns a vitamin/supplement shop. I got protein/fish oil there, already had creatine (pure mono) and multis/vitamin d/zinc. Asked him what he thought about c4, which is what I use now. He said it was decent but weak. Showed me some stuff, I think it was "GAT". He had a ton of flavors, said it was much stronger, gave a way better pump, and has cleaner/better ingredients. It was also around the same price or less than c4. I'm gonna pick some up in a week or two, because this looks like the ideal preworkout. Strong, good pump, not terrible for you (in terms of ingredients, all can be bad if used incorrectly), cheap and tons of flavors.
*N_Wist*It's weird I'm making gains everywhere else except bench press. Seems no matter what I can not increase weight, not sure if it's because I'm scared of dropping the bar on my chest or what..... it's seriously annoying
louie.miragsaightt good looks I am down to give it a shot

Toasty.Hop in a power rack and set the bars for if you were to drop it, and you exhaled it would just land on the safety bars. Thats what ive been doing lately
*N_Wist*I might try this, the only thing is I don't want to sacrifice reps. Im going to try deloading and see how that works.
CliffyByroanyone have any reccomendations on how to slim down from the waist down? years of skiing, ice hockey and cycling have given me strong legs but they're somewhat out of proportion to the rest of me
Toasty.get bigger up top? problem solved
CliffyByrohaha i know that much, but i need to slim down too. other than eating healthier and exercising more is there anything less obvious that can be done?
ABallsDrink water, a lot of water. Maybe throw some green tea in there. I'm no expert but from what I've seen around me when people go on "diets" they only change the foods they're consuming and not the drinks. Don't drink your calories. This will slim down your whole body. You cant really burn fat in certain spots so if you want to lose mass quickly from your legs it will most likely me muscle mass. Hope this helped.
CliffyByroyeah thanks. i already drink quite a lot of water, maybe i'll swap out regular tea for green tea and stop drinking beer so often. as far as diet goes i actually eat pretty healthy, without forcing it too much. i think i just eat too much food rather than the wrong stuff haha. i definitely need to exercise more though so i'll get onto that
ABalls@cliffybyro I would completely cut out the beer, I'm not too sure about liquor but you're consuming a lot less of it so maybe stick to that.
