MACAQUEWent to the doctor's today and weighed 175.0 lbs with shoes on, so I figure I'm about 170 lbs buck naked. I'm 5'9". I'd estimate myself to be right around 12-15% BF based on comparison pictures from the internetz. To bulk or to cut, that is the question.

juicedrummer11cut duh. its beach season. bulk in the winter
Granite_Stateevery season is bulk season.
Question for the smarter lifting bros, is it possible to bulk slightly while getting cut? Mainly I'm down to get cut but want to put some weight on. I know it sounds contradictory, thats why I ask. If not i'll just stick to bulking.

ABallsI'm going to try going on an empty stomach. I've heard a bunch of broscience about it though so I'm sceptical. One thing that does make sense is that the pre will have a better effect because you're coming off of a fast and there is no food in the stomach. I've gone up in weight in pretty much everything though so I'm super happy.

ABalls^would bcaa's help sustain the muscle? And after looking around a bit im going to credit my ferocious diarrhea to the amount of supps i took today. 60g's of protein, two scoops of pre and a scoop of creatine within 45 minutes probably wasnt the best idea.

What's your leg day?
nick21861My main issue is I'm pretty picky and don't like many veggies. Been considering adding kale and dark green leafy stuff to my shakes and pasta? Any other ideas?
cobra_commanderWhat's your leg day?
ABallsthis will be my first time training fasted. im going for about 10 minutes of hiit, 20 minutes of steady state, and about 30 minutes of lifting.
The referenced post has been removed.
ABallsIm gonna guess that I hit a plateau. I started off with a pretty serious diet change and dropped 4 pounds but im no longer dropping weight. I can tell that im putting muscle on but my bf% has looked pretty much the same for the past 4 weeks. Anyone have any tips? Should i just increase cardio? Im currently going 5 days a week with about 10-20 minutes of cardio on each day.
louie.miragsBesides the workout routine, try taking a closer look at your diet as well. Ecspecially if you're seeing muscle gains and like your workout.
MTPOWSo I'm pretty skinny right now, 6'2, 170, 18 years old. I want to get stronger for bow hunting but also get bigger, what should I set my goals for? Any programs that would match that?

ABallsSo today was pretty average regarding food and the gym, the amount of carbs was pretty high though. Not everything is exact but it is very close. Only drank water all. 8 bottles
Breakfast: 4 eggs, 1 yogurt bar, 1 clif bar, 1 banana, water
44g protein 54g carbs 12g fats 660 calories
Lunch: 1 chicken wrap, 1 baked potato, water
20g protein 90g carbs 13g fats 700 calories
I didnt have a legitimate dinner so heres what was consumed post lunch
Special k bar, chewy dips bar, chicken salad sandwich, scoop of whey, 1 sausage
76g protein 81g carbs 40g fats 870 calories
At the gym i burned about 220 calories with cardio and I lifted for about 50 minutes but i dont know how much that burned.
Totals: 140g protein 225g carbs 65g fats 2230 calories
Should I cut something, add something?
hey-dude-its-meWhat is the best workout strategy to look ur best in 2 weeks? More cardio? no cardio? heavy weights? high reps? workout a lot? workout a lot and then a little? Legs? No legs? etc, or don't change?
.MASSHOLE.Depends for how long you want to look good.
If it is a short period of time, cut water weight. That means lots of exercises that will raise your heart rate while cutting back on water and carbs.
Long period of time, well, two weeks is not that far away. You probably will not see a huge amount in gains/muscle definition unless you are spending hours upon hours in the gym. If you want more definition, just deload and increase the rep amounts.
californiagrownthere is literally nothing correct in this post. It is one giant facepalm.
To the member who asked the question- just keep doing what you are doing, assuming you have a relativley dialed training and diet regimen already. You are not going to create any changes in your physique that will be noticed by anyone other than yourself or BB judges in 2 weeks.
honestly, make sure you are tanned and that will make a far greater difference in your appearnce.
ABalls@californiagrown thank you... one thing i dont understand is that I actually dropped about 8 pounds. Im currently at 204. I probably wasnt weighing myself correctly because that number just started showing up last week and ive been hopping on the scale at night. Anyways, even though ive been consistently dropping weight I havent noticed a change in how my upper body looks. Its like ive just stayed the same for 4 weeks. Anyone have any recommendations or an explanation?

californiagrowncutting water for bodybuilders is to make sure ther is no subcutaneous film of water to obsucre muscle fiber. If you arent at 2% BF cutting water will do nothing because you still have a layer of fat obscuring muscle fiber. It will simply be unhealthy and make your skin look like shit.
BBers actually carb load before going on stage to ensure that their muscles appear full. If you cut out carbs your muscles will appear flat and deflated.
Spending hours upon hours in the gym does not make you build muscle. quite the opposite actually.
Low weight high reps doesnt help you cut any faster. Diet is what cutting is all about. In fact BBers generally keep high wieght low reps while cutting to ensure they keep the most muscle possible.
Like i said, literally everything is wrong with what you said.
ABallsIm Going up with weights and cardio. What i was getting at is that I see improvements on both the weights and the scale but not really the mirror anymore. I dont know where the fat is being lost from. I would really like to see what my bmi is now though.
