zzzskizzzYou don't take pre-workout to feel motivated to go, i've taken a quite a lot and it's fine. People bash it all the time but it's really not that bad I've taken it and have no regrets.
-benedettoThen why? For the 100 ingredients involved?
MilaKunisTastiest protein bar?
ABallsNo I'm plenty motivated, I just wanted to try it out.

JayDopeim cutting out all creatine, and increasing my sodium consumption
hey-dude-its-meon the surface this seems contradictory, what is the reasoning behind it?
Toasty. Then just try it out man. Im always motivated to go, but when your face and neck are super itchy and your kinda tweaking.. you feel like you can pick up the whole gym when you get in there.
Toasty.Sodium holds water just like creatine
TortaoTHERE IS NO NEED TO BUY PREWORKOUTS. just buy the main ingredients in preworkouts in bulk powder form. way cheaper and just as effective. i mix up 1/2 tablespoon of beta alanine, 1/2 tablespoon citrulline, 5g of creatine, and 100-200 mg of caffeine in some orange juice.

RedPandaMy knee is super fucked up and my doctor said I should try to stay away from squats for the most part. Any decent substitutes for it?
tusken_assraiderhmm if its your knee thats fucked then not really, how is it fucked?
RedPandaJust whenever I squat, even without weight on t shoulders, it crackles a fuckton and is pretty bothersome because I have screws in it and there is some stuff I should get cleaned up with another surgery, but since it hasn't really been a big deal, I've been putting off getting another surgery.

ABallsYa I tried a scoop and felt like mr Olympia. I finished the workout that usually takes me and hour in about 30 minutes so I just kept going.
jcaI'm no doctor but biking (stationary, road, and mountain) has really helped get swelling down and range of motion back in both of my knees which lack acls, mcls, and one torn meniscus.
hey-dude-its-meyea thats why its confusing to cut down on one and increase the other

Granite_StateSame with swimming though I doubt how much effect on your quads it will have.

.undetectedAnyone ever try Jacked when it first came out and wasn't approved by the FDA? That shit was nuts I used it for a week and literally went up in all power lifting exercises, but it was just too much and I have not used it since.
-benedettoI was in the navy when it was popular and a few if us used/tried it till it got banned by the military. Crazy stuff. I hated the coked out feeling and itchiness.
.undetectedYea same here, it actually felt like I was on coke or something like you said I was itching all over and my heart would race sooo fast.
CirilloI ran out of preworkout and snagged some from my roommate one time. It was called mr. hyde and actually gave me chest pains mid workout. Now it's just black coffee for me before a workout.
-benedettoAnd cardio is a terrible idea with a heavy pre-workout

californiagrownAny sort of frog kick is terrible, i mean horrendous for your knees. And swimmers have weak ass legs. If you are just trying to stay active, do cardio, or an active recovery day then its great.
Granite_StateWho said anything about frog kick? Freestyle swimming is fucking great for you. And it relieves pressure on your joints which certainly won't hurt this kids knees. Like you said, great for cardio or an active recovery day. I'm not recommending it for building muscle, though if you swim enough im sure it has a small benefit to your legs. Swimming is just as much legs as upper body.
louie.miragsI'm digging working out before work, however the post protein farts are killing me right now.
californiagrownYoure not digesting the protein in that case. Dial back the amount you are taking post workout until the farts stop. Then, if you feel you need to slowly up the amount 5 grams or so per week.
Or drink the shake in two goes. 1/2 immediatley postworkout and 1/2 right before you walk into work 30 minutes later etc.
ABallsI'm going to try going on an empty stomach. I've heard a bunch of broscience about it though so I'm sceptical. One thing that does make sense is that the pre will have a better effect because you're coming off of a fast and there is no food in the stomach. I've gone up in weight in pretty much everything though so I'm super happy.
