at the mountain in vermont i work at there is maybe 5 regulars who ride skiboard. they are all 60+ year old men. they seem skilled with them and seem to really enjoy themselves. it looks lame to me but as long as people are having fun i am no one to judge others

I learned a hell of a lot on the skiboards. Wouldn't recommend it though. Maybe good for a day-hire. I use them now to lift over my head for exercise and bicep curls. I can go into details...I just hope/plan to get some new models of my slayers out soon for freestyle, based on what I've learned and expect.

skiboarding to skiing is the same as riding a bike with training wheels. Why would one do it? Only because its so much easier and they are fucking lazy and cant be bothered to learn something new.
Its the same as riding a scooter instead of a skateboard, i hate people like that so much.

Yeah pretty much. Which in turn makes us all just a bunch of freethinkers! You should of seen the looks on all the faces yesterday as I charged the hill with such fierce control and passed up the guys with snow boards and skis. I know they were thinking " I have to get me some of those!"

several things are definitely easier with skis on, dont think skiboarding is easier.

maybe on small jumps or rails, it would be easier, but the added forward/backward balance definitely helps skis.

then, idk how you can actually ride with them on slopes, its so much harder.


it looks pretty stupid, yes, but i disagree with it being always easier

well, really, levinthal owes a TON of his success to skiboards and he only makes small batches anyway so if enough skiboarders wanted him to, maybe he should...

There was a reason for it to exist before twin tip skiing became the norm. Those were the start of the modern park skiing movement.


At this point in time there really is no reason for them to exist.


As much as inline skating gets hate, it is it's own unique sport. Skiboarding is a half assed version of skiing.


That said somebody had snowboard bindings mounted on some when I worked at west a while back. Those were super super sketchy but fun as hell.

I'm still baffled at how serious this website is.
blading is the scootering of the ski and snowboard industry. but at least scooters have their own tricks, blading is pretty much skiing, minus the presses, and a lot more screamin seamens.

i mean yeah. also, convergent evolution sorta happened with twin tips anyway so it could be argued that they werent necessary, but j lev def got his start as a skiboard maker

I lived with the revel8 guys when I was in breck, and they can throw down harder than 90% of NS.

I know someone who can suck dicks better than 90% of ns. And sucking dick is harder than you think. Does that make them cool and deserving of some respect?

Also, every edit I've watched of skiboarding just looks bad. Poor editing, music, etc. but overall just poor skiing. Nothing is smooth. Everything looks awkward and forced. I guess its because anybody with any real talent would just ski

They have a few tricks, but 80% of the time style is 0% there.

Henrik schools all current bladers hands down. Funny he shreds as a joke for fun and his level is soooooo much higher.

That must be frustrating for them.
