Bang for your buck MOGUL SKIS

Looking for a little confirmation here, or insight

I love skiing bumps and in the spring there are days I ski nothing but bumps (killington late season). Center mounted ar7s work pretty well but I the tails get hung up so easily and make lines super sloppy

Ive heard that old straight skis are a good option if you want to seriously ski bumps, so im trying to find a pair on ebay. However, im 5'4" and most straight skis are in the 190cm range. I found a pair thats 165cm, but I cant find any information about them. Is a vintage 165cm ski basically a kids ski and will completely suck for moguls? Or will these things be an absolute blast with fks on them?

for reference I currently ride 171 ar7s, and im pretty sure I would welcome shorter skis as a dedicated bump ski.

165 is too short. The reason that straight skis were longer is to compensate for the lack of shape. Get like 180s

no way man.. modern mogul skis have hardly any shape and edges really arent used at all

these will be perfect mounted -4 or -5 with FKS

ya i understand that, but i wont be trying to ski a downhill course with them. they will be dedicated mogul skis

If i was to buy a pair of modern hart mogul skis, my size would probably be in the 160s so i figure these are essentially the same thing am I correct?

I want to try this the upcoming season, i have an old pair of Rossignol CUT and they're super skinny and i want to see how they go in the bumps

Spent the last week in Europe smashing bumps on my Kastle FX94's (I know they are not bang for buck at RRP) but I got mine ex-demo for an utter steel and they just destroy any softish bumps, you can billy goat around to your hearts content.

But my favourite mogul weapons are some shop version softer flex than FIS) slalom skis or my old Fischer Watea 84's.

Yes OP that would work just fine. Do it and buy a neon 1 piece circa '93.
