This has probably already been asked but I don't feel like going through the whole thread.
Are the kartel 98 and 106 the same profile and flex and just different widths? Or is the rocker profile and flex different as well?
SessionUnfortunately I will not be able to add to my tally this year, and keep up with you. Long term life plans to move away from the mountains require substantial savings. Gotta make what I have stretch.

And I'm basically done. I can't sacrifice much more space to skis and my wife's growing snowboard collection, not to mention my bases are pretty much covered and then some with my current quiver without the incoming 122's. May sell the Vicik Tours towards something with tech bindings, but that's it. As much as I'd love some C&D's, it's not to be with the tremendous overlap I already have.

But that's awesome brother, do they feel like your veneer? Tough to understand what the texture actually is just by seeing it
Not like the veneers in any way. I've got another picture below that was slightly out of focus but shows the texture of the skis in better light.
Running my fingers over the topsheet, they definitely have the texture of a lower grit sandpaper, yet they have a smoothed finish that keeps my fingers from becoming abraded or hanging up on the texture. Hopefully that, or the picture below, make more sense of the texture.
It's tactile shit like that which puts ON3P on another level. The skis are really not just tools but like a product that has development. People who make medical devices with touch points or do human factors testing know the effects of texture. Never imagined it on skis.

This is still a season away if we decide to move to it entirely, but so far we seem to like it. We shall see.
We did make a pretty big change in the finish process on the skis this summer. I won't mention what it is (except to say it isn't the bases, as those are already super dialed) and it has resulted in the best and most consistent finish we've ever seen. We are stoked on it. I don't know if everyone will notice, but those with old and new ON3Ps will definitely see the improvement.

We are still going with a smooth topsheet on all production skis for 14/15, so we only got a very small number of these textured tops made. Most are on team skis, we just had a few extras around.
So once again I'm going to post in here on the basis of my extreme indecisiveness.
I skied the Surface One Life (189) this past season as my main ski and I adored it. I really liked how stiff they were and how they could just blast through crud. But I hated the bases and either the rocker shape or just overall durability would make the topsheet chip really bad, it seemed more than just cosmetic in some places.
So here I am, at the end of the summer thinking over all of the money I have saved for new skis and I think the Jeffrey 114 sounds like the ski for me, but I have made that assumption merely based on the written specs of the ski. So I really want to know more about the way the Jeff 114s ski. Are they more of a charger, are they playful, stiffness, mounting points, everything.

I'm probably going to put the Guardians on the Jeffrey's, and throw some STH 16s onto the Billy Goats.

What he said. Even though the blue sth2 16s will look amazing on the BG's, is it worth drilling them again? I still haven't figured out what bindings would look good on the Jeff's, maybe some green pivots?
Not really worried about cosmetic appeal of bindings on my skis...
The Billy Goats are going into their third season, which is incredibly impressive, so they'll turn into my charger ski, as well as something to thrash around on.
Guardians will go onto the Jeffrey's mostly because I'll be able to take them into the backcountry and hit up some zones that are perfect for the Jeffrey's. The binding performs like the STH almost, so I don't have to sacrifice anything really besides weight (which I can deal with)
I wanted to pick up some Steeple 112s this year for a full touring set up, but finances never work out that way
you should make a kartel 98 ski but with toned down rocker, like typical ski rocker ahha, that would be my dream ski a 100 ish underfoot, on3p quality with slight rocker. but lets get real that rocker will never change aha
How soft are the Jeffrey 114, I have a pair of beat to hell Line Opus that I would like to replace prior to this season, and have had a pleasant experience with my Filthy Riches. Just looking for an all mountain ski thats playful. I blew it by missing the On3p demo at Alta this spring.

Not as soft as the Opus. What other skis do you have flex knowledge of that I could compare it to?

Add the camber back and make it nice and stiff and yeah that would be an awsome ski. Maybe a little early rise on the tail to keep it easy to release from carves.
