hervJust out of curiosity are this years bases the same orange ones as last year or are they the lime green ones?
JakeSmithI am having a really tough time deciding on skis. I am 5' 11" 130lbs and currently ski mostly bumps, steeps, chutes, and bowls at Breck, A Basin, and Keystone. I am an advanced skier and will pretty much ski anything in mostly all conditions. I would say my style as playful-charging and I am always popping off of stuff when skiing the steepest stuff I can find. I mainly skied Surface One Life's (189cm) this season and really liked them as an everyday ski. I never found the width (112mm) to be too much on groomers and I adored their ability to charge I also rarely found the length too cumbersome (I skied some really tight, steep trees on them once or twice this season and that was the only time I wanted something shorter). It is hard to directly compare, but I liked the stiffness of them compared to my Liberty Morphic's (171cm), which are 3 seasons old now and are VERY flexy. However, I still found the Morphic's to be manageable in sketchy crud (A Basin lower east wall kind of stuff). If the surfaces weren't so heavy and didn't have such shitty bases, I would probably keep them and use them for everything, everyday, except park.
Essentially I am looking for a wide charger that I can ski most days. I am looking at mainly the current Jeffrey and the Jeffrey 114. I might as well throw in the Caylor just because I might be skiing somewhere with more pow in 2 years and because of that one Sander Hadley edit.
Also what size of each ski would be recommended? Note that I would get the current Caylor, not the Jeffrey 122 if I went that route.
iggyskierGreen.
JakeSmithAny ON3P guys know how the stock is on 13/14 Jeffrey's?
Unrelated, but how does one go about buying a tour layup ski?
BWalmerBest bases yet, I got many compliments in lift lines about the green underglow (some people thought I had lights on my skis, haha).

lukemeahan. Will you guys be doing veneer topsheets?
iggyskierGrizzlycorn
iggyskierYes. A limited number of veneer and Grizzlycorn topsheets will for purchase in May.
ThundaKillaOk...
Looking to to pick up a new pair of skis or two for next season. I'm going to be attending the University of Vermont next year and will be seeing a bit more snow than the past few years in Southern NY. I've never had an "all mtn" ski. The past season I was skiing my 186 FRs in everything. The rocker helped in a few inches of fresh snow, but I need something wider.
When I'm not in the park, I like to ski really fast, rip bumps, and boost rollers. I'm currently eyeing up Kartel 106s or Jeffrey 114s. Are the Kartels really that soft? do the 114s ski like the old Jeffs everyone loves so much? Would Caylors/Jeffrey 122s be too wide for an everyday EC ski? Do I go FR, 106, and 122 for a three ski quiver or is that overkill?
Any help would be much appreciated!

BWalmerI'd go with the Jeffery 114. I have the original Jeffery (110 underfoot, 186 length) and they crush whatever powder New England can throw at it, the 114 will be all the fun with a bit more float. The Kartel 106 might end up being an overlap for you unless you want to really get into tree skiing and want something that will turn quicker than the Jeffery but will have more float than the FR (although I rock my Jefferys in the tree just fine, but a thinner ski might be nicer at some points). Maybe consider grabbing this years JMOs (if they're still in stock in the size you want) for your mid-width ski...but again, might be overlap unless you're really looking for something that make tighter turns.
MartianManFinally upgrading from Thunder Ridge. Congrats man.
ThundaKillaWould FRs and Jeff 114s be a good two ski EC quiver? That's what I would currently be going with, unless this years 186 Jeff's are still in stock...
Btw Sundown's park killed it this year!
ThundaKillaEnded up pulling the trigger on Jeffreys, could not be more stoked! Now I have another ski question...
My dad has been looking to buy a new setup for the past two seasons. He's currently on 185 Volant Machetes, with a 12 din Marker plate binding. Hes been skiing them for close to 8 seasons now, they are pretty beat and heavy as fuck. I was thinking about buying him a pair of last years 186 Tychoons, and a pair of FKS 120s.
Dad's stats:
-55 years old
-210 pounds
-Advanced skier, has skied for 40+ years
-Travels around New England to ski, but will moving to central VT within the next year.
He's looking for a ski that can hold its own in both crud and on hardpack. Tychoons are about the same measurements as his current skis, but with rocker. Which I believe he needs. Should I go for it? Do you think they will still be in stock mid summer?

BWalmerHe'd probably have a blast on those, or you could wait for the Wren 102. They'll be slightly wider, but just as awesome.
MuggydudeGet him some pivot 14s or even sth2 13s instead if the fks 120s. Can be had really cheap right now too

Pudge181 or 186 Jeff 122?
On 181, 13/14 Jeff (110) now. Had the 181, 11/12 FR.
I am 175 cm, 5' 9", 140# to 150# at any given time
Any other opinions? I haven't been home in a while to measure up against my Jeff's but I am leaning towards 181, 186 just seems way big for me. I rather it be a playful ski like the Jeff rather than not. But I still want to feel comfortable that I won't go over the bars if I am charging them
Jaggy_SnakePersonally I'd go for the 186, but that's just me.
PudgeAny reason..?

daveyjonesi need some help guys, so i just bought a pair of 186 jeffry 114 "eh" skis... stoked! now for park skis, I'm completely torn between presters and fr's, i was sure i wanted presters but know im totally in the middle. i had this years punx and they were awesome but fell apart
what i want... a super fun ski that i can mess around on but still send big jumps and rip without washing out
about me... 50/50 rails and jumps, i like to think that i hit consistently hit big jumps but i live in Edmonton and the biggest jump is about 40' so the fr's im sure would be fine, but when i go to the mountains ( probably 1/5th of my days) and im shredding park thats the only time i think the fr's wouldn't be good and the presters would be, because the jumps are about 60'-75' now and i love ripping just as fast as possible outside of the park and just sending rollers and bumps as big as possible. a couple of my friends have fr's and they are so much fun but I'm just concerned they would be to soft and buttery for when I'm hitting the bigger jumps and ripping. and with presters they would be perfect for mountain park days but in the city they will be to stiff to mess around doing dumb stuff like butters and shit.
im 5'9'' 150 ish

jeffbajorJust got my jmos! love them but was expecting some dope stickers with them and didn't get any....
PudgeGrizzly/veneer option dropping soon?
iggyskierYeah. I am trying to get everything in the store today. Just a lot of data to enter! Should be available soon.
DarthVaderDat OG Grizzlycorn base...
Ryanvdonkso why no more man size on the wren? the 191 was my favorite ski that i tested last year for charging (and with the tail rocker was a lot more forgiving than my old 181s without loosing stability)
