Finally got out on my Presters for the first time yesterday; holy shit did they far exceed my expectations!

Super stable for me on 181cm, 6' 2" @ 185lbs. Can't wait to get them out again, and into the park as yesterday was spent charging around groomers and the rest of the mountain.

Everyone who wanted a JMO was telling us that they either ski 70% park, 30% mountain, or 60% mountain, and 40% park, or vice-versa.

So, we split it into two skis. They are very much the JMO, but split up into two skis so that person that skis a little of everything has a ski that is very specific to them, high performance, flexing just right, etc. One or the other is going to be that perfect one ski quiver for everyone that is looking for it!

decided im going with presters and jeffery 114 next year! now for sizes...
i was thinking 181 presters and 186 jeffery's 114's
im 5'10'' 150 and am a good skier and can control my skis well. do you think these are the right sizes?

Hi, I'm unfamiliar with ON3P as I live in Switz so can someone enlighten me who the Jeffreys are aimed at? the 114s that is. I currently ride 179 Line Prophets 98 (12/13) but I'm currently in search for a wider pow ski which still has all mountain capabilites. Thus far I've looked at the Norwalks, Govenors, Origins and Deathwishes. I'm 5"11' 160lbs, so pretty light, but I love to ski aggressive and sometimes pull sweet small turns in style. Can't pull tricks that much and such but I love cliff dropping and the likes, so they can still be playful which I think these skis are?

My only gripe is that the other ON3P skis in contention are the Billy Goats, but they are more "touring" skis and I don't do touring, so are the Billy Goats out of the question?

Billygoats may be toured on(like anything), but most definitely not "touring ski's".

Ye that's my gripe, anything can be a touring ski, but its just I've heard that the Billy Goat is aimed towards touring more than the others (since its light I'm guessing?) and thus perhaps the other models which are not aimed so much towards touring have better performance in mind since it doesn't have to satisfy touring needs. How do they perform?

Erase the misconceptions from your mind. Billy Goats are a directional powder ski capable of skiing the entire mountain; with the exception of the park. Not that they couldn't handle it, but they are not designed for park or much switch riding.

The Jeffrey 114's on the other hand, are a jib oriented "all mountain/powder" ski. Your usage will be determined by location, other skis in the quiver, etc. I use Jeffrey's as my go-to, every day ski. Doesn't matter what the conditions are, I know I will have more fun with Jeffrey's on my feet. The Jeffrey's handle switch riding and landings, as well as park riding much better than the Billy Goats do to their more central mount, more symmetrical shape and rocker profile.

To sum it up; go with Jeffrey's for a playful yet stable ski that can handle switch riding and park usage. Go with the Billy Goats if you spend most of your time outside the park riding forward.

Both skis can and are being used as touring skis. All depends on what you're looking to get out of your skis.

Billygoats are not some lightweight pansy ski. They are a directional pow ski for those that like to hatefuck the mountain weather it be high speed open faces or tight tree's. Exceptionaly stable going fast as fuck, and turny enough for the tightest tree's.

Didn't get anything from the other thread

WARNING: 13/14 discussion!

Can anyone tell me the tip/tail splays on this year's Jeffrey's? Mine are not at school, and I am trying to make comparisons between their profile and that of other skis.

Anything anyone could tell me about the tip/tail profiles would be great, other than they are both 405 mm in length.

Does anyone know how the Caylors perform on hardpack/groomers.  Have some park skis now (Nordica El Pacos) and looking to get something to perform better in deeper snow.  However, they would also need to be a decent ski on non-pow days.

Pudge, what kind of dimension data are you after?

Graham, the Caylor is a beast on hardpack. Big, but it grips and rips. For hard non groomed though, I'd prefer a Jeffrey, just because it's got a bit more camber and less swing weight. Sander makes Caylors a do everything ski though, and many Caylor owners would tell you that they did the same before ON3P introduced the Jeffrey.

The Jeffrey will be a better all-around ski, and a lot of people like that waist width in pow, and ski it hard. I personally ski the Caylor (and soon the Jeffrey 122) anytime there is more than 4 inches, because I like a bigger ski... but the Jeffrey 144 from next year will probably be your BEST bet!

I just don't think you can determine that a ski is dumb just based on the width. I would take the L138 pures out on any day more than 12 in of fresh

We all would, but how often do you get 12+inches of fresh overnight? If its enough days to justify spending a thousand bucks on a ski then I wanna move to where you live.

What kartel do you guys think will go great along with my Caylors? I don't really go in the park that much anymore but like the idea of a smaller waisted ski for the trees up at Schweitzer, but also I like the idea of the 106 for a more stable landing.

Kartel 106 is your ticket if you're only 30 percent park. It's stiffer than the SFB in general, although not a super stiff ski. However, it has a much more substantial underfoot flex for stomping, and it's WAY more torsionally stiff.

Strictly my only pow ski, so charging/dropping cliffs/not turn much. But I will want to still spin, huck and such.

On 181 Jeffrey (110) now. Had the 181 FR.

I am 179 cm, 5' 9", 140# to 150# at any given time

Pretty sure you have them in the correct order. Kartel 98 is the softest, Kartel 106 is next, then Jeffery 114 (of those skis). There are skis stiff than the Jeffery 114.

I've heard that the Kartel 98 is the softest ski ON3P makes. Stiffest of the "freestyle" skis (Prester, FR, Kartel 98 and 106, Jeffery 114 and 122) is probably the Prester. Not sure what it is when you add the BG, C&D, Wren and Steeple, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are stiffer.

I'm thinking you could go either way with the usual tradeoffs of ski sizing! I'd make the decision based on where you will be skiing mostly... like if jackson or another big mountain go 186! want more hucking, bowls, airs go long! trees, tight spaces go 181!

but at your size you should be able to handle both 181 and 186...
